Because everyone would be too embarrassed to admit they graduated from the University of New Jersey?:O

Eh, Rutgers sounds so much more Ivy League I guess.

In 1825, the name of the college was changed to honor a former trustee and Revolutionary War veteran, Colonel Henry Rutgers

This game is kind of odd. I thought that Rutgers was ready to compete big-time.

Maybe I underestimated USF, but I still think that Rutgers could compete for the the Big XII North championship.

Kansas beat USF... by that logic, if they're able to hang on... nevermind... you're probably right.... Colorado might give them a game though:texan:

He said compete for the BIG XII North, not dominate the division.

As for USF, they are hard to read. They can come out and embarrass a good Louisville team and then lose against the worst team in college football.

I still like Rutgers though. They dont have world class talent, but they are coached so damn well. I'll take a well coached team any day.

not that it means much, but they've landed some guys the last several years that have 5 *'s by their name...

SelmaBamaFan
9/29/2006, 09:31 PM
Our QB is John Parker Wilson. We dropped off because we play the same boring, conservative style of football... just this past week our FG kicker missed the big kick... 4 times.

Our new QB is the only bright spot on our offense that cant run the ball for ****. He'll be better than Croyle before he's a SR.

I do believe (hearsay) that he is a Miami boy. Either coached or went to school there, not sure.

I'd love to have him though. He is a good coach that doesnt rely on a gimmick offense or defense. He is old school in a new school sort of way.

last year's Syracuse was one of the worst D-1 teams of all time. but, Cuse and Pitt are "traditional powers" in the east coast media.

Billy Sims barely beat out the great Chuck Fusina for the Heisman.

fusina played for Penn St, actually. i was kind of freebasing there for a minute.

i can't wish enough bad football on Greg Robinson since while i am NOT a bronco fan his terrible defenses are a lost memory to most Donkey fans. only Pat Bolen's checkbook, fan myopia, and Shanahan's 21 point leads in the first quarter kept that guys job in the late 90's. when you are up 21 an blitz off the corner you look like a genius.

Nope, pulled hammy. We hope he can return this week.

He was doing the kick off duties last week, but had ZERO practice for 11 on 11 FG duties. The coaches thought he was just as big of a risk as our freshman kicker because of the lack of practice on the snap-hold-kick timing.
