I used to enjoy listening to the little Canadian minx.

Although, technically, there is no "irony" in rain on your wedding day.

her other stuff wasn't bad, but Jagged Little Pill was easily one of the best CD's in the '90s

i can't think of hearing about her much after she was in Dogma

The only ironic thing about that song is that it was a song about irony with no irony in it whatsoever.

I like rock and electric/hard blues. There simply ain't any good rock or blues female vocalists out there.

Whitney Houston? She made my taint hurt.

One of those angry girl music chicks is a lesbian, but I don't remember who.

Actually...our lady SO members can appreciate this more so than us but she is probably busy, she is dating Ryan Reynolds of Van Wilder, Blade Trinity, and Waiting... fame. So she isn't doing to bad for herself ;)

Vaevictis

She suffered the same fate as any number of other musicians who had a debut album that was the peak of their craft -- for those people, you can never match the first high, so it's all downhill from there.

IMO, Don McLean is the prime example of this. The American Pie album was amazing, but there was absolutely nowhere to go from there but down.

Whoa! I never heard that. Well since you said it and this messageboard is considered "the internet", I'll take it - hook, line, and sinker. Uncle Joey has some girl going down on him in a theatre.... Weird.

I thought everybody new that. Dave was doing that while she was a Canadian teen idol. Apparently "relations" with Dave Coulier make you angry and strange once he decides to "cut it out"

News to me too. But cool. She was hotter younger (which makes me sound only moderately pervish).

Bonnie Raitt, and who's the openly lezbo singer? Melissa Etheridge?

They both sound like they need to lay off the cigarettes.

I had always thought that "You Oughta Know" was about some hockey player, but I could be wrong.

Last I heard she had become ordained as a minister of some kind of religion, and was now allowed to marry gay couples.

Of course, that kind of thing is OK up here. ;)

I had heard that too, about "You Oughta Know." One of the Maple Leaf players, too, I believe. If that is the case Hoser, then....
"You Oughta Know" that.
And,..........
Isn't that ironic.
Don't you think?
Set that up pretty nicely.

Funny if it was Mike Peluso. I've met the former UAA Seawolf and OKC Blazer a few times.

Kasey Chambers first album was in the rock/blues/country stylings, and pretty good, IMHO. the second, not so much. Also, there is some jazz/blues singer chick that Mrs. Ike brought home a cd of last year that was pretty good, but I can't for the life of me remember her name right now. dunno if that would be up your alley though.

What happened to Alanis Morrisette?

That's the same thing Ryan Reynolds thought when he woke up the day he decided to call the divorce lawyer. :D

And Homey, for another tailgate ride on teh Homey express, I can hook you up with Belinda Carlisle's Playboy issue. ;)

Indigo Girls

They're lesbians, but they're hardly angry. More mellow than anything else.

Melissa Etherige is a lesbian as well, but doesn't seem all that upset. Sings with a lot of passion, though.

Possibly Ani DiFranco?
