where DRM = Digital Rights Management

I bought some music through Napster/XMOnline. Downloads fine. Burns fine. But when I load it onto my mp3 player it won't play and displays as DRM WMA, no title/artist. After I did some Googling I realized that this is protected even though I purchased it, and will only play on the Napster mp3.
I saw some literature online about some software claiming to do remove the DRM, has anyone tried this?

Or know of anyone that has tried this?

Or is related to anyone that knows anyone that tried this?

You're just encouraging them by buying the music.

If you can't do it, have your daughter do it. Most teenagers know how to steal music. I just hope my kids grow figure out how to do it soon so that I can get me some free music.

Burn it to a CD and then re-rip it. You'll lose a little quality but probably not noticeable.

I'll try it...I thought the protection followed it when ripping it again?

Nah, they say you have to use a new one each time.

Look in the rearview mirror and wave bye-bye to The Line, 'cause I think I just crossed it. ;)

Get on a bittorrent search engine and look for FairUse4WM . . . or Tunebite.

Either program free's up the file for conversion or playing.

I probably should finish that myself because around here, that could end any number of ways.
