Brought to you by the creative talents of my fellow Byng Pirate, ByngSooner:

Lyin' Eyes (Gordon Reise version)
Pac 10 guys just seem to find out early
How to overlook the ball within a pile
A rich old man
And the home team won't have to worry
He'll dress up in zebra stripes and go in style

Late in the game, the replay booth gets lonely
I guess ev'ry form of referee has his price
And it breaks our sooner heart to think that call was
given to a team whose mascot quacks and flies

So he tells us that he only saw one angle
And the tech beside him couldn't hit rewind
But he knows he's a lyin', cheatin' crackhead
ANd the SOoners have exposed his *** this time

You can't hide your lyin' eyes
And your viewing angle is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't no way to hide your lyin eyes

On the other side of the field a team is waiting
with sure hands and 13 point lead they had it won
They played the on-side kick just like they should have
But Gordon screwed the game up just for fun

The ball rushes to Patricks arms,
They fall together
We were interfed after 8 yards by a duck
The replay showed the world what was the right call
But Gordo and Cutaia didn't give a (pause) crud!!!

You can't hide your lyin' eyes
And your viewing angle is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't no way to hide you lyin' eyes

The excuses pile up and the dust settles
Gordon understands it's not gonna' fly
This time he has screweed up with the wrong team
So he watches ESPN and begins to cry

he wonders how it ever got this crazy
He thinks about the coach he knew in school
Did he get fired or did he just get suspended?
He's so far gone he feels just like a fool

My, oh my, you sure know how to arrange things
You set it up so well, so carefully
Ain't it funny how the replay didn't change things
You're still the same old cheat you used to be

You can't hide your lyin eyes
And your viewing angle is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes
There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes
Gordon, you can't hide your lyin' eyes

I actually only did half the lyrics. A buddy of mine filled in some gaps.

I am not able to start a new thread so I sent it to FaninAma to post for me.

If anyone has a quality midi file of the song I may try to record it and post an mp3...lol

Edit: Here is the mp3

I was impressed. I had no idea that there was this type of hidden talent down in little ol' Byng, Ok.

Good job, Clint.

That effort probably zapped Byng's talent pool for the next few years.

I found the midi file, but where do I host it?

If you want to post a link for the midi file I will check it out.

I found one but it was pretty poor quality. I guess for the purpose it could still do.

I really needed to get it done last week since the "moment" is fading (as it should). I just didn't have time to put it down....

Thanks.

So who is going to record it? :texan:

The lyrics have been prepared in a great way and the song should be recorded without hesitation! :D

I did a quick recording last night then got into major tech issues trying to get the midi parts exported with the audio to mp3.

I am using Cakewalk Sonar Le. Seems that if the midi is not DXi it will not export. It plays fine within Cakewalk...

Phil (HMFIC) is in sec. 31, perfect on the 50 and with a nice elevation. He'll probably swap with you. :D

Bob Stoops, the Oklahoma football coach, after living a full life, died.

When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a
modest little house with a faded Sooners flag in the window.

"This house is yours for eternity, Bob," said God. "This is very
special; not everyone gets a house up here."

Bob felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the
porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3-story
mansion with a Green and Yellow sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flagpole with
an enormous Oregon Duck flag, and in every window, a Duck.

Bob looked at God and said "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but I
have a question. I was a good coach, I went to three consecutive bowl
games, won a national championship, and turned around Oklahoma's entire
program."

God said "So what d o you want to know, Bob?"

"Well, why does Mike Bellotti get a better house than me?"

God chuckled, and said "Bob, that's not Mike's house, it's mine."\

GO DUCKS!

Is it me or have the quality (if that's the term) of trolls gone downhill since the Oregon game? Maybe I'm just seeing this through n00b colored lenses, but they're neither funny nor really offensive. More like annoying clutter in the middle of a thread.

I can't speak for the lot of 'em. But this one was permanently stuck in 5th grade. Glad he got the boot.

OK, I finally got something recorded to an mp3. It is still 9MB (didn't realize how long the song actually was til I started recording...lol). If someone can figure out a way to stream it or make it smaller file feel free.

Also, this is no tryout for Star Search, I was limited to three amatuer singers---me, myself and I.

(30 minutes later.) - I now cannot figure how to get the mp3 file uploaded.
The board will not allow this. Anyone have an idea?
