Teddy Lehman.

He shows up to camp as a walk on. He had a ride to a naia school but wanted to play at OU. He told the coaches he woul run a 4.3. They disagreed saying there was no way a 240lbs white boy is going to run a 4.3. He told them if he didnt he would leave without even trying out.

4 years later he gets drafted in the NFL 3rd round. He holds most of the records on offense and defense at Ft Gibson. He even has a stretch of 4 lane highway named after him.

I even have a signed golf ball from him. Its priceless as far as I am concerned.:)

Switzer was at Wild Wings last night and I asked him this very question before he went on the air.

He said Spencer Tillman was a 4.5 guy before his injury, "but don't get me wrong, that's still really fast." He threw out about 7 or 8 names, but he said Eric Mitchell, Elvis Peacock, and maybe Charles Thompson. One guy ran a 4.84 100 yard dash, but I don't remember who it was. . Peacock maybe. There were three or four that ran 4.2 40s.

What do you mean you don't think so? 100 yard, not meter. Google "State Record", "100 Yard Dash" and you'll see there are some 9.7s in there even.

I asked him about Tillman and Pruitt and some of the others, but he seemed to come back to Peacock and Mitchell. I just don't remember who he said ran that 100 time, but it wasn't either one of them and it wasn't a name I really recognized. I was born in 74, so it very well could have been before my time.

James was every bit of 6'4 and 250 (if memory serves me), although he looked waaaay bigger in person. He originally signed but had eligibility issues and went to NEO. That's where I met him. Unfortunately.

Me and another wrestler (who happens to be black) were walking down the sidewalk outside his dorm when James was walking about. Simpkins, always the jokester, started laughing a little and I didn't understand why, until James was two steps away from us.

Then Simpkins put on this big scowl and shoved me as hard as a 118 pounder could shove me, and said as loud as he could "What do you mean, calling me a ni**er?".

James stopped for a second and looked at me with these two angry, steel-like eyes, and it was at that moment I knew I'd never have bowel trouble ever again in my life. I now knew how the "fight or flight" instinct worked.

I've been in house fires, I've been to Iraq...and I was never more scared than I was when I thought he may actually eat me.

Fortunately, Simpkins started laughing, and James kinda' smirked it off as two friends razzing each other. But it was extremely difficult to walk back to my dorm with legs that seemed to weigh 200 pounds.

BTW, I beat the ever-lovin' sh*t out of Simpkins when we got back to his room.

If we continue this discussion much further we must decided whether we are talking about track (40 times) speed or football speed (wearing pads in games when it matters). I am young 28 so I probably don't qualify as an official judge, but D. Parker was the fastest (on the field) to me. He once scored a touchdown for the Packers and started fanning his feet like he had run so fast they had actually caught on fire. It was hilarious.

Big Moe Dampeer is huge... He signed on with the NWMSU bearcats. They are a DII powerhouse, not quite that DI level. They have had luck getting players into the NFL though. Moe came and has been told this is his last chance.. Either he does it or he is gone. His eligibility is only a sophomore.. I'll post some pics of him now.. He's over 400 pounds now though and REALLY out of shape. So far though he has been loosing weight at the NWMSU camp. Hear the trainers really have him on lock down.

I really wanted to start a new topic about big moe, but apparently I don't have the permissions to post the info. If someone would that would be nice then I could post pics of big moe.

^^ yeah Ron, someone's a little mixed up.

This is subjective and kindof depends: are we talking straight 40 time? 40 time with pads & helmet? Real-time game action?

I will say this: if the race is run in a fairly straight line, and the contestants must be in full pads and carrying a football, It'd be hard to go against Anthony Stafford.

Pigface1
