Heh. PG and I don't get to hang around before the games that much either, but it's because we have to go stake out our student-section seats.

That's strange; we never had trouble getting decent student section seats when we were at OU.

Hey, we don't have trouble getting them - it's getting the ones right on the end of the row on the 50 that's tricky. ;)

And Selma, she takes all the pictures so she doesn't have to be IN any of them. ;)

not really, but when drinking is allowed in the stands people get a little more out of control than usual. Gotta be low-pro when you sneak in a flask.

SelmaBamaFan
9/24/2006, 07:52 PM
That's a good point I guess.

But considering there are 100x as many ppl drinking outside the stadium before they go in, it would be hard to determined when the drunk people actually got drunk.

Also, you must consider PG sits in the student section. If its anything like any other student section ive seen, that dancing/acting silly stuff is pretty normal.

The funniest memory for me was my first Bama game at Legion Field. I had to go to the bathroom and was shocked when I got in there. I literally had to wade through Jack Daniel minatures to get to the toilet. You couldnt take one step without kicking atleast 4 or 5. This was NOT in the student section btw heh.

that's a good one. One of my funniest "drunk guys at a game" stories is this one: A group of boyscouts were walking up to the student section with their scout leader. One of the boys had a big "number one" sponge finger on his hand. Some drunk student went to grab it for fun and ripped the finger right off. The boy had the most awed expression on his face like he was so shocked and upset all at once. :(

The other one is of a guy vomitting in the student section and watching this huge hole appear right afterwards - looked like the parting of the Red Sea.

SelmaBamaFan

Puking and messing with small children is unacceptable. Both of those guys should have gotten their asses kicked.

We had a guy that thought he was going to puke at a Bama game once, he was so incoherent (sp?) he couldnt even watch the game. He didnt even come with friends that could take care of him (read: take his *** home). We drug him out of the stadium and let him puke outside.

not cool at all. The drunk guy didn't mean to rip the finger off, though, and he got a ton of **** for doing it.

Vomit boy was hauled off by security.

There's now a hotline you can call to rat out uncontrolable fans at the games here - but mostly people call in to make prank calls - someone called in to report a complaint about halftime entertainment. lol.

There was a UW tailgate there? what was that like?

I mean a Washington fan showed up at our taigate before our game against UW.

The Bama people were crazy - RVs everywhere, even the Hooters guys rolled up in their $1,000,000 RV.

Top 5 things that make Norman special on Gameday?

1. Owen Field - home of 7 national championships, 4 Heisman trophies, 39 confrerence championships, 24 bowl wins in 39 appearances, 141 all-americans, and the still-untoppled record 47-game winning streak. Oh, and don't forget the average attendance of over 84,000 screaming idiots. :D

2. Memorial stadium is on-campus, so the gameday atmosphere is extra-concentrated.

3. Ponies! The real ones, not those godawful horsepig mascot suits. nothing like seeing a tiny wagon run around the field after an OU touchdown.

4. The Pride of Oklahoma - maybe not up to their usual intimidating power, but still a dang good band, and one of the best pregame shows anywhere. (Dotting the I = overrated!)

5. OU fans. In general, OU is one of the best fanbases around, more likely to say hello and offer you a beer than anything else. Every school has a few jackhole fans, but ours seem to be a lot fewer in number. (Don't listen if a Texas fan tells you otherwise - they get special treatment.)

Yep, plenty of OU fans offered me a beer at the game. It was cheap beer, but it was indeed beer =)

I also had plenty of free drinks the Friday night before the game. Although, I think they noticed the way I was chugging em and got me full so I wouldnt be as loud the next day. Conspiracy I tell ya...

3. Ponies! The real ones, not those godawful horsepig mascot suits. nothing like seeing a tiny wagon run around the field after an OU touchdown.

thank you! That's what I was looking for. So If I were to show up in Norman for a game...would I be welcomed then? you know, as long as I wasn't a stupid Oregon fan...a good one.

No question. The only people that we really get after are Texas fans and OSU fans. And even then we don't usually bother them unless they go out of their way to stir up trouble. Mostly.
