I was told by a rich and spoiled young law-firm partner that my demeanor or persona (I can't remember the exact word) was too much like "an enlisted man" - that from a guy who had never been closer to the military than a 4th of July parade. I was also deemed "too friendly with the staff" - the staff being just above the Untouchables and several notches below the Brahmans who inhabited the windowed offices. At the time I was stung, and I knew I needed to move on. Since then, I feel honored to have been so "insulted" in that way by such a person.
Was that too serious a response? ;)
