Do you guys think this is attainable for AD this weekend? I think the NCAA record is 406 yds.:pop:

he won't crack 300. though i would love to see it.. Bob would probably pull him

See, the downside of the 2003 team was that our defense was also really good and so it wasn't long before we were almost obligated to put in the backups because of the score.

If the defense continues to play like it has so far this year, that might bode well for AD, with him getting more and more carries late in these types of games.

I also think that Bob will pull him, but one is to wonder after seeing Bob put AD on the field for kick returns.

He wont if it is before the 4th quarter!

It's probably more realistic for him to have more than 400 all purpose yards.

Still, that would have to help boost him in the Heisman rankings...

Being that this is both ADs and bobs last year i say go for it.

why would he leave? he has a great school, a great team, a great fanbase, so many things going for him that 1 loss by mistake wont suck the life out of him

He's got too good of a contract to leave this year. I say he leaves after the 2008 season.

Yea cause he'll never have trouble with instant replay or bonehead players in the NFL.

First of all, I don't know how good MTSU's defense is, but I expect big stats for him. Also, it's a big mistake to have him returning kicks for two reasons. Your exposing him to a big hit due to the nature of kickoffs and he's not good at it. Reggie smith should be getting the ball on all special teams plays.

I agree that placing him there makes him vulnerable, but disagree with your second point. It's not that AD isn't good at returning kicks it's that Reggie Smith is just better at it.

I think Bob placed AD there soley because he thought it would boost his stats and help his heisman hopes.

I say he's not good at it because of his running style, he's a bruiser and power runner........to return kicks you need to be a slash and dasher. Having the vision to see creases also helps, Reggie is just amazing i think at doing that.

I personally dont think he will leave until afte 2010, didnt he get a new contract with special provisions the longer he stays? aside from money i also think he loves OU

Idiots. Bob put AD back there so they would have to pick the lesser of two evils. So to speak....

It's as if he's saying, "Okay, I know you'd kick it away from Reggie....how about this guy? AD can break one too, you know?"

AD or RS. You choose. I mean, I'd kick it to AD, if I was on the other sideline, based on what I've seen so far. And if they kick it to RS, AD can be one helluva blocker on those plays, too.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Next to Toby and Garth.. Stoops has to be OK's biggest celeb.

I've been wondering since his freshman year when and if he'll break the school record. I don't think he will now but it would be awesome if he could do it.

Yeah, but I bet drawing a multi-million dollar paycheck tends to make you feel better about it ;)

I would be surprised if AD had 300 yards rushing, Stoops won't leave him in that long. I would like to see Gutterrize (sp) run some.

Hopefully we'll FINALLY see another runner this year... Not that I don't want to see AD, but I'd like to see what we have coming up.

For those wondering, the school record is 294 by Greg Pruitt vs Kansas State in 1971.

Who has the OU single game rushing record?? is it D. Parker or Greg Pruitt or Q. Griffin?? I think AD could definitely break it.

Cam
9/21/2006, 09:09 PM
Unless he breaks off 4 80+ yard runs on OU's first 4 plays of the game, it'd be in pretty poor taste for him to stay in the game long enough to get either record IMHO.

I think Coach Stoops put AD in to Kick off returns because he thought they would kick away from AD to Reggie Smith and he wanted to keep the Wideouts (Iglesius) fresh for the soft secondary of UO.

It didn't work as they kicked to AD every time, but I know if some other teams were less knowledgible they would try to keep the ball out of AD's hands and kick to Reggie who is a little more deadly than AD on Special Teams. Don't know what to expect this week.

AD has much to learn when it comes to blocking.

If all he needs is 295 Stoops would give him the chance. He loves numbers.

It takes luck, circumstance, and talent to pull this off. The problem with say is if OU gets up by 28 35 points...they better be benching Peterson I don't care if he is ever 12 yards shy. The Demond Parker/Ricky Williams game was so much yardage because both teams sucked bad and they were both running like crazy and the game was close so they both had to stay in the game!

Soonerdaddy
9/21/2006, 10:43 PM
I don't think he gets pulled unless we are over 50.

handcrafted
9/21/2006, 10:44 PM
No. No pull AD. He's only Number 2 on the NCAA rushing stats right now. That hosehead from West Virginia is ahead of AD. I WANT AD NUMBER 1 AND I WANT IT NOW. Leave the man in the game.

Yeah and if he twist his ankle while we are up 42-0...you can bet you would be ****ed when we play Texas and he can't play.

Readyfor8

Save him for Texas but if we are up 14 in the 4th I don't want to see Second String and I don't want to see prevent defense.
