Just curious as to what SoonerFans think of Paul's NFL chances.I think if he continues to have the kind of season he is having now he will be drafted.I think it will be as an athlete rather than a QB.While he is doing an outstanding job at QB for us I think he is too limited to be an NFL QB.I think he could be looked at as a WR prospect,a S prospect or even as a RB or return specialist because of his size, speed, and athletic ability.Just my opinion, what do y'all think?

I don't think he'll be drafted. Unfortunately for him, his lack of play time in College will affect him adversely. Even if he has a breakout season, I don't see him getting any offers at quarterback.

Now, it is possible if he somehow uses his speed (which we haven't yet seen this year), then he could go in late rounds as a WR or maybe a Safety.

I love ENA and think he is doing a bang up job, but he isn't going to be drafted. Jason White didn't make it, so I don't see ENA.

ENA isn't a QB. Draft people are going to watch his spring game this past year. They are going to say, this is a guy who is 6'4" 6'5" has adequate speed. You can use him in lots of different situations, kind of a taller version of the guy from Indiana(gone blank :P) You also know that you have a kid that is an A+ character kid. He is going to work as hard as anyone at camp and you know he won't ever complain about playing special teams or anything they ask. Thompson doesn't have an injury past and has relatively little wear and tear on him. The fact is that if someone like Kelly Gregg or even a J.D. can come in and impress everyone with work ethic. I have no doubt he will get drafted and I have no doubt that some team and city will get an incredibly steal.

I love PT and everything but there is NO WAY he will get drafted.

Sure, why not?

He's a great athlete.

You guys are acting like getting drafted is difficult. All you have to have is some upside and PT has it!!

I'd LOVE to see him in the NFL but I just don't think he'll make it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

He won't get drafted, but he'll get invited to a camp.

i think he can play in the NFL, but he's going to have to keep producing this season to do it. He's could go as a WR, as well as a QB.

Word, I'm thinking maybe a Matt Jones type situation.

I sure do hope so. I already have to name by next born after him for this season alone. The only downside that I see is that he does not really have enough playing time at either position.

If I had my choice I would make him the #2 pick just for his sacrafice to the Sooner Nation.

He should be held in LIQUID CARBONITE after the season and propped up for all to see!

With his size and speed I don't see why not. The one thing about PT is that he has a team first attitude. He will do whatever he needs to do to help his team. There is no reason not to give him a fair chance.

Athelete and character will get him a job in the NFL, maybe Dallas to show TO what class is.

You guys are acting like the NFL doesn't take flyers on 6'4" 6'5" guys with decent speed. Hell, you see guys drafted from Middle Popcorn St University just because they are 6'5 but weigh like 120 pounds. Paul is more polished at WR than some of those. Did anybody think Brandon Moore would be one of our more successful NFL LB's...no probably not. It just depends on the right situation. But rest assured someone will take a shot at him

Isn't he a bit of a "workout warrior"?

Seems like he's the type of guy that could impress at the combines (if he gets invited, if not, then OU's pro day) and get a late look as a wide receiver.

he will get a look at wide out....probably as a udfa

I don't think he will get drafted, but you never know; if he has good numbers at the combine(if he's invited) that will help him out tremendously; everyone says he has good speed, but i haven't seen it yet, nor has he been very elusive when he's ran; i'm hoping that will come with more experience

i hope he does. i think he'll have to work out for team to get a good look.

he ran around a 4.6 40 i believe which is very pedestrian for a wideout...he displayed good hands and his routes got tighter as he played more last year....nfl seems to look more for talent than character or a "good team guy"..

The last pick in the NFL draft last year was a 6'1" receiver from Maine who wasn't good enough to start until his senior year of college....at MAINE!! Yes PT can get drafted!

it would be better for him not to be drafted than to be mr irrelevant

The right team with the right need and he will go.

he'd also make a great grad assistant at OU.

The last pick in the NFL draft last year was a 6'1" receiver from Maine who wasn't good enough to start until his senior year of college....at MAINE!! Yes PT can get drafted! Jason White played 90 years at Oklahoma, won a Heisman trophy and led his team to two national championship games and wasn't drafted. It doesn't matter what school you're from or how long you've been playing.

Right now, PT is inexperienced and has relatively average speed (4.58) to be an NFL wideout.

Reggie McNeal was inexperienced at wideout, but he ran a 4.41 at the combine. The Bengals took a flyer on him in the second-to-last round as a WR. He's been cut and, recently, added back to the roster since then.

All that said, it's not impossible for PT to get drafted, but it is unlikely. He'll get invited to someone's camp though.

he's like antwan randle el (sp?) from the big 10. he can play at either receiver or quarterback and would be perfect for trick plays --- something the nfl should do more of.

With his size, speed and atleticsmHe has a chance at the combine to blow awy the scouts.Even if his speed is only between 4,5-4.6 that is more than adeuate to be a NFL wr od safety. If he goes to combine training like JD did last year,I guarantee you he will improve hs speed. The other skills such as bench press reps with 225,,shuttle running, broad jump.vertical leap, are going to be better as well(they are pretty darn good now).As for having limited time at wr,so what ?Randle EL,heinz Ward were QBS in college.ENA is smart, athletic and of outstanding character .As several of our smarter posters have mentioned he is the kind of player who WILL DO ANYTHING to help a team.He is in short a special team coaches dream, and could be more. One final point,Spencer Tillman played 10 years in the NFL as a special teams player. He had lost much of his speed and quickness due to injuries suffered at OU but he made it.Given that Paul is bigger, faster, stronger, and the same kid of character guyI think he makes a team.

I think he gets drafted because of his production and visibilty as OU QB.AS for Jason the reason that didn't help him was EBERYONE knew he had TWO bad knees.ENA is healthy and a better athelete.(,think Nolan Cromwell).

If I remember correctly, Josh Heupel wasn't drafted either. And he WON a national championship and was runner-up for the Heisman. He signed with a team, but I don't think he was drafted. I'm sure his elbow had something to do with him not making it, but that kid was/is smart and could play even when his elbow was bothering him. Still, he got cut. (and I'm glad he did, not for him, but for us!)

PT as a RB? You serious?

And he wasn't even returning anything at OU when we had problems with it last year; why would he return anything for an NFL team?

Safety, doubtful.

He needs to show his running ability if he wants a chance to be drafted. Otherwise, he'll be an invitee to camps.

heupel was drafted in the 7th rd....most teams listed whites arm strength as a major issue........

thompson does not have a safety build...if he was to make a team it would be at wideout.....

the question is will he be drafted but the bigger question is would he make the team
