I'm close enough to getting permabanned anyway, the pics would probably put me away once and for all.

What's unacceptable is that I still haven't seen pics of her tittays.

They said on the radio this morning those were around at one time, but Tiger bought em all up when they got married.

Is there anyone on the planet you'd rather be than Tiger Woods?

You're the best golfer on the planet (I can say that now that Stan is baned).

You make about 90 million a year doing it.

You have a hot Swedish model for a wife.

Maybe a Colombian drug lord, because they can trade the golfing part for like killing people, and stuff.

yeah, I think they were just bikini type shots.

I'll bet Stan has seen her boobers.

Go USA.

it's about time that we DID something in the Cup worth watching. Maybe the new guys will have a different attitude.

Saw the pairings. Tiger and Furyk lead out against Paddy and Colin. Cink and J.J. Henry are next...not sure about that one, but they are going against Paul Casey and Karlson. Wetterich and Toms have a tough challenge against the Spaniards and then a very interesting final match. Mickelson and DiMarco versus Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood. DiMarco lost his mom. Clarke lost his wife. Mickelson lost his mind at the U.S. Open. I'm not sure what Westwood has lost other than most tournaments he plays in.

maybe Tiger would play better by himself in 4 ball.

what it comes down to is putting and we're getting waxed in that dept. as per usual.

my totally nutso Ryder Cup prediction:

the US digs a hole early in the matches, makes a gutty comeback and has a shot going into the singles on Sunday. makes a Sunday run so that for about half an hour have the lead in 3/4 of the matches (network guys show highlights from 99, are drooling all over themselves, use the phrase "great drama" a brazilion times)....a couple-three Euros make big putts to halve matches or win and pull away.

oh, wait, that's pretty much every year.

King Crimson

really dumb comment about "pressure" and players paying respect to the water on hole #?....it's best ball and your guy is about 15 feet (Monty).....you throw it at the pin (the guy pulled it, just call it and quit telling TV what to think). farg the aqua.

Eldrick my brotha.

and what's with Sergio's tight pants?

King Crimson
9/22/2006, 10:16 AM
did you see Sergio's comment a couple weeks ago about wanting a piece of Eldrick in singles?

Serge has a nice Ryder Cup record, but given recent history (British Open, PGA) I'm not sure calling out Tiger is great idea.

Can someone explain four ball scoring and the other ways they play? Cant get the scoring window to work from the link.

http://www.rediff.com/sports/2004/sep/17golf.htm

(from 2004)

The teams are 12-a-side. A total of 28 matches will take place, culminating with 12 singles on the final day.

The first two days will feature a mix of foursomes and fourball matches, with the order of play determined through mutual agreement by U.S. captain Hal Sutton and his European counterpart Bernhard Langer.

Foursomes matches involve two-man teams, with each playing one ball. The players take alternate shots until the hole is completed. The lower of the two scores wins the hole.

If the same amount of shots on both sides are recorded, the hole is halved.

One player will hit the tee shot on odd-numbered holes with his team mate teeing off first on the even-numbered holes.

Fourball matches involve two-man teams with each player playing his own ball and completing the hole. The best score of the four wins the hole.

In singles matches, the result is decided when one player leads by more holes than there are holes left to play.

Team captains submit their order of play before each round of matches to an appointed tournament official. The lists from each captain are then matched, resulting in the pairings.

what's the deal with the camera work on approach shots....can they show the ball land or just the player watching the outcome?

that said, Sergio knocks it stiff for birdie.

US blows opportunities on 18.

Chad Campbell and Zach Jonshon came up big.

5-3, not bad. as few matches as the US actually ever led in the PM it could have been a rout. though, Furyk puked all over himself and Phil/DiMarco let a 1/2 point slip away at 18.

pretty exciting stuff i have to say. all the matches went to 18 except 1. Montry comments that 5-3 is a big difference from 4 1/2-3 1/2. Interesting.

Sergio is turning us out. ick.

you missed out on yesterday's coverage when none other than Michael Jordan said: "they've got some REAL golf courses over here".....one assumes he meant Portrush, Ballybunion, and Royal County Down. all links courses with no trees.

heh.

seriously, it's a gawdammned shame the R&A won't play an Open at Portrush, Ballybunion, or County Down. it's all politics in the "big" sense....and it's ****ed up.

Who at Nike makes sure Tiger gets the easiest opponent from the European team? Fasth, Rocca and now Karlsson? Congrats to Cink for showing that Garcia is human in this event, but it's all but over this morning. And it looks like Darren Clarke's match could be the one that seals the deal. That, for what he's been through, would be quite a moment. DiMarco's down 5 through 8...unbelievable.

do you honestly not think Eldrick could take on Europe's best?

I used to like watching this when it was competitive. even if the Euro's win it.

guess my fav was in '91. it's been pretty crappy since then.

if I was coach next time around. I'd have my team read the book by Mark James the week before the competition started.
