Sorry but I don't think we see the same type of progress in PT if Chuck Long is still here and Huepel isn't the QB coach.

I think this bodes very well for next year whether Halzle or Bradford is our QB.

Josh is da man!

I don't know if he's better than Long as a QB coach. Long was pretty good in that role. But Josh has certainly done a very good job with PT, and did a pretty darn good job in the Holiday bowl last year with Bomar.

CL coached QBs to 3 Heisman trophy presentations while at OU.

And the progression of Jason White can't be under-stated. Long transformed him from a gunslinger dual threat guy into a cool, calm pocket passer who had a ridiculous TD-INT ratio. I still maintain that if Jason White's knees hadn't given out, he'd have gone down as one of the greatest college QBs of all time, and probably would have won a NC in 2001.

....And 2003 and 2004. Well, he wouldn't have had 2004 eligibility so maybe 2002.

remember when Jason played as a freshman before the knee injuries? He was more likely to run instead of checking through the reads. When he hurt his knees it taught him to be a better player, even he has said that.

That's true, but I believe coaching could have eventually taught him what he learned more quickly from bad knees.

Regardless of what CL could or could not do with PT, Josh is and is going to be a fantastic coach and heaven help the rest of the Big XII when he becomes the Head Man at OU.

I'm hoping to see what kind of QB he's able to recruit. I think PT is in the same line character wise of Josh, Nate, and Jason. It will be interesting to see if Josh recruits that same kind of character.

I agree with everything.

Josh is a good QB coach. In fact, the reason Bob felt OK with hiring Josh away from Mikey was because Chuck Long offered Josh the QB coach job at SDSU. Since Josh would have taken Chuck's offer absent a better one, Bob made the better offer.

I'll give Chuck Long some of the credit for Jason White. Also, Jason(and Chuck) had the benefit of playing behind a very, very good offensive line. I don't think he played a large part in Josh's senior year success. And I don't think Chuck would have worked with Pt's strenghts....roll outs and throwing on the move.

Heupel is definitely as good as any qb coach in the country.

Chuck was probably a better QB coach than offensive coordinator.

It seems like Paul hasn't made a bad *read* this year. You have to attribute some of that to Heupel.

paul is a phenomenon compared with last year. It's because of...

1-PT
2- and PT's coach's
3- especially Heupel.
:D

Yeah, I bet she thanks God every day for not having the incredible insulin producing power of her father.
