This should be the big pick-me up game for the Sooners. I expect the Sooners to recover from this weeks events. Unless there is some drastic breakdown it should be a blowout of epic proportions. The only dangerous thing about this matchup is that our problems might not REALLY be fixed although it may appear as such because of the opponent.

MTSU is (2-1) and a member of the Sun Belt Conference. They have no real superstar and the offense has really struggled this year. QB Eugene Gross has thrown 3 picks, and he is the leader of the O. They run a real balanced attack. Nothing flashy nothing special. They spread the rushing between Demarco McNair and a few other backs. No one has any significant offensive stats. The QB is #96 nationally.

On the Defensive Side, MTSU has a decent unit. Despite alot of injuries they did pitch a shutout this week and took the ball 4 times. The most points the have given up was 24 to Maryland in a 24-10 loss.

However, I see them having difficulty getting 1st downs. They do NOT have a high powered offense by any means.

It's hard to predict games like this, especially after a loss like Oregon. Do the Sooners come out guns a-blazin' or does it take a game to shake out the cobwebs?

Our D shows improvement across the board, including the first turnover returned for a score this season. OUr offense is steady and efficient and we see the return of the TEs - JJ gets a TD catch.

FYI, Eugene Gross is our RB. Our QB is Clint Marks. He is 2nd in career pass completion % amongst active D-1A.

I'm not predicting an upset by Middle Tennessee, but usually we play these "money" games close for a while. If you look at our record over the past 5 years, we have given some BCS teams a real scare and we have taken some of the games deep into the 4th quarter, but we have not pulled off the "big win". Don't be surprised if it's still a ballgame at halftime.

Our defense is our strength. I think we are good enough to hold Peterson in check for the first half. I'm not saying shut him down because he's way too good. I think your depth will wear us down in the 2nd half and that's when Peterson will rack up his yardage.

Here's to a good game and hopefully, for Middle Tennessee's sake, the Pac-10 sends their refs to Norman for this game.

It's going to be rocking and loud on Saturday...especially when they show the preview video with Stoops and the typical message from Boren. Everyone will be ****ed off at what happened in Oregon, fans, coaches and players. It should be the most hostile environment Middle Tennessee encounters all year.

Given that we seem to not like to "rub things in" in the latter stages of the game, I think it will be an impressive yet classy 45-10 victory. I'm hoping for more but honestly...just keep piling up the W's!
