- We could have gotten embarassed on national TV, at home, like Notre Dame did, or on the road like Miami did.
- It could have happened in a conference game, and affected our chances at winning the Big 12, or going to a good bowl game. Hell, it could have happened against Texas or Oklahoma State, and ruined our entire season.
- It could have happened at the end of the season, when we wouldn't have time to recover in the polls.
- We could have suffered a major injury.
I'm just saying, we still have a lot to play for. We have the entire conference slate. We have a healthy Peterson and his Heisman campaign. We have a slew of young receivers who are growing up before our eyes. We're watching a star being born in Reggie Smith. The National Championship is probably out of reach now, but with the way that our defense is playing, I'm not confident that it's in the cards even if we don't get robbed.
Let's try to keep some perspective here. If there was a game to lose like we lost on Saturday, it was this one. And at least there are some positives that we can build on as the season moves forward. It's a lot better than if we'd gone in there and gotten blown out.
