How old is he? I was thinking that he has a birthday close to my sons(Aug 16th he was a year). Sam has been walking for a few months now, he's actually starting to run a bit. Maybe you should have your son tested?

I am totally kidding. All kids develop at different speeds. It is awesome though! As a parent who would like to be very lazy at times, I can tell you that once they start walking, things are much busier.;) Like you said though it doesn't last long enough, enjoy it while you can.

That's really cool, pb.

When Jr took her first steps, no one actually saw them. I walked into the kitchen and she was standing in the middle of the open floor trying to figure out exactly how she got there and what to do next.

My son's birthday is August 16 as well...He is now 13 months and not walking (though he is acting like he is ready to start). He started crawling late, and seems as though he is starting walking late, but his vocabulary is very advanced...He's really smart, but not quick on his feet, I guess he'll end up being a lineman (he's a little chunky too) instead of a quarterback...:D

Not to hijack this thread but at lunch I asked my wife when our boys started walking. My first son was walking just before 10 months. With the baby we wondered if he would ever actually take off and walk, he was a big chicken holding on to furniture and stuff but only letting go for a second before sitting down and crawling off. This went on for several weeks then we got him one of these and within 2 days he was walking around without it with no problems at just under 11 months.

Don't worry about it though, like I said before, all babies develop differently and at different speeds. He's walk when he's good and ready to.
