Wow! I've been reading the reviews at Yahoo by moviegoers and most hated it and thought it was a terrible movie.

I thought the trailers made it look like it would be really good and I have an interest in true crime, but many reviews say that the murder is an after-thought in the movie.

movie about same murder by name of "true confessions" is very good.
was made 20 to 25 yrs ago, stars robert duvall(cop) robert di niro(priest)
& charles durning as a mobster.

the 2 bobs are brothers.

excellent; probably highly fictionalized.

Well, the Black Dahlia is based on the James Ellroy novel. Ellroy also wrote the novel on which LA Confidential was based.

If you're looking for a true account of the murder, I doubt you'll find it in this movie.

FWIW, try wikipedia and google images to find a cursory view of the actual murder. The "black dahlia's" actual name is Elizabeth Short.....use her name in google images to see some pretty gruesome, yet fascinating photos.

A couple of weeks ago I read about her at Wikipedia and what I thought was interesting was that two of the 22 suspects were Woody Guthrie and Orson Welles!

I think I'll check out TRUE CONFESSIONS,but I think I can wait til BD comes out on dvd.The movie I want to see is HOLLYWOODLAND?The one about thesuicide or murder of George Reeves(1st Superman).

She looked like a she but she wasn't able to act like a she if you get my drift.
