Ann Richards has died and gone to that special place in heaven reserved exclusively for former Bears.

I didn't care for her politics, but she was entertaining to say the least; here's a great big Sic 'Em to you Governor!

Awww that's horrible! I was liked her. She was the first politician that I remember. I was fascinated by her, we lived in Ft. Worth when she was elected and I was 9.

Wait, does this mean we can kick Baylor out of the Big 12 now?

It wasn't Ann Richards it was Bob Bullock and he died some time ago so the window of opportunity has passed.

Like her politcs or not, she was certainly a unique kind of hellraiser who added some flavor to the Texas political landscape.

She was tenacious and steadfast to her principles. And she will be missed.

Boy if her and Kinky had kids they would be special.

Thank you for putting an image in my head that's 10 times worse that the pic I accidently linked a few months ago.

Governor Richards was a star debater. Our debate lounge had a giant portrait of Ann Richards honoring the achievements and success with the Baylor debate team (one of the best in the nation for a very long time now).

Governor Richards was a master debator. Our debate area had a giant portrait of Ann Richards instead of the usual porn one would expect (Baylor is home to one the only master debator groups in the nation found outside a penitentiary or Navy base).

fixed it.

When I was working at the childrens hospital, a few of her staff members worked there and later I learned that every one of them was admitted to phych hospitals. THey were a very Strange and I do mean strange group of weirdos, she was not too far off from them. We saw her behind the scenes several times and I can confidently say that my statement is pretty on target.

If this thread were an airplane, the TCAS would be saying "To Low. Terrain."

I too did not agree with many of her political views.. but.. the lady had spunk and chutzpah.

I still laugh at her line, "Poor George... he can't help it.. he was born with a silver foot in his mouth." [referring to then VP, George Bush]

RIP Governor.

They had Larry King on last night when the news broke and he was relating stories about her after they had just played the clip you mentioned. Then he says everyone will remember her line at the 94' (?) convention when talking about George Bush when she said "he was born on 3rd base thinking he hit a triple".

I was like.....Larry either forgot his meds, Ann was on fire that night or he has her confused with Barry Switzer.
