This is a cool video of exactly how to deal with people who think that 9/11 was a conspiracy created by the U.S.

They shouldn't "rot in hell" for holding up signs that show how incredibly stupid they are. The terrorists should "rot in hell" for blowing up the buildings.

Man...have you forgotten that free speech is allowed in the U.S. no matter how stupid the things being said are? I mean...you LIVE by that rule. You shouldn't have a problem with those idiots doing the same thing.

This isn't free speech on display LAS. This isn't dissent.

This is an organized effort by some group to pin the largest attack in US history on Americans. This is an effort to undermine our executive branch of government. This is slander and this is a disgrace. And, on top of it, to do this on GROUND ZERO on 9-11 is just disgusting. These people WILL rot in hell, with their friends in AQ, the Taliban, Hezbollah, Iran, Syria, North Korea and Venezuala that say them same damn things.

It's still free speech.

It's still protected by the U.S. Constitution.

It's still stupid and those people are idiots, but the Constitution protects idiots. It's part of America.

The minute you show me that they're planning an attack on the White House or a presidential assasination, then...THEN I say "**** em" they can rot in hell. But until then...they are still Americans. They are still our brothers and sisters. Just our idiot brothers and sisters.

Of COURSE they would! These are the same jerkoffs who think we didn't land on the moon. These aren't Democrats or Republicans...they're anti-establishment nutjobs. They're complete whackos and idiots.

They hate "government" of any kind. The color of tie the Prez in Powah wears doens't matter to them.

You'd be hard pressed to find someone who hates or disrespects "Pres" Bush more than I and I certainly don't think he "caused 9/11" or was happy that it happened.

Free speech is indeed allowed and it can have very real consequences.

Colonel Bui Tin, who served on the general staff of the North Vietnamese Army and received the unconditional surrender of South Vietnam on April 30,1975, had this to say recently in a Wall Street Journal interview.

Support for the war from our rear was completely secure while the American rear was vulnerable. Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at 9AM to follow the growth of the antiwar movement. Visits to Hanoi by Jane Fonda and former Attorney General Ramsey Clark and ministers gave us confidence that we should hold on in the face of battlefield reverses. We were elated when Jane Fonda, wearing a red Vietnamese dress, said at a press conference that she was ashamed of American actions in the war and would struggle along with us ... those people represented the conscience of America ....part of it's war-making capability, and we were turning that power in our favor.

Wow. That dude is so ignorant it's not even funny.

1. That steel mesh has WAY more vertical load-bearing members (as far as scale is concerned) than a normal skyscraper. Also, they're much more closely spaced, reducing the load on each of the load-bearing members.

2. Different hydrocarbons burn at different temperatures. Kerosene does not = jet fuel. You can light kerosene with a match - lighting jet fuel is somewhat morre difficult. Jet fuel can probaly reach temperatures that will disrupt the metallic structure of steel. Kerosene can not - that's why camp stoves WITH STEEL GRATES use kerosene or propane fuel and not jet fuel. Dumb****.

Well, the conspiracy theories have been given additional credibility today.

Theory that U.S. orchestrated Sept. 11 attacks 'not absurd': Venezuela

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - President Hugo Chavez said Tuesday that it's at least plausible that the U.S. government was involved in the Sept. 11 attacks.

Chavez did not specifically accuse the U.S. government of having a hand in the Sept. 11 attacks, but rather suggested that theories of U.S. involvement bear examination.

The Venezuelan leader, an outspoken critic of U.S. President George W. Bush, was reacting to a television report investigating a theory that the Twin Towers were brought down with explosives after hijacked airplanes crashed into them in 2001.

"The hypothesis is not absurd . . . that those towers could have been dynamited," Chavez said in a speech to supporters. "A building never collapses like that, unless it's with an implosion."

"The hypothesis that is gaining strength . . . is that it was the same U.S. imperial power that planned and carried out this terrible terrorist attack or act against its own people and against citizens of all over the world," Chavez said.

"Why? To justify the aggressions that immediately were unleashed on Afghanistan, on Iraq."

Chavez has said the U.S. launched those wars to ensure its political and economic power.

The U.S. government says al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden masterminded the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

"A plane supposedly crashed into the Pentagon, but no one ever found a single remnant of that plane," Chavez said, citing a television program he had seen on Venezuela's state television.

Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro raised the same theories in an earlier speech Tuesday, and called for an independent investigation.

"It's really worrisome to think that all of that could have been a great conspiracy against humanity," Maduro said. "An independent international investigation must be carried out one day to discover the truth about the events of Sept. 11."

The real key is the fodder the White House and Congress are giving them. The White House has been unbelievably secretive about everything, and until Bush's recent slide in the polls, Congress has had a near phobic avoidance of their Constitutional duty to provide oversight.

Now that Congress is starting to actually do its job, they'll start casting light into the secret shadows, and the conspiracy theorists will have less to work with.

how so exactly? I don't want the white house to stand up and publicly explain how we do things to keep people safe in our country.
I also don't want every frickin detail of 9/11 made public to Joe Turban.

The problem isn't that the White House is secretive. That's not abnormal. The problem is that the Congress has been remiss in providing oversight.

Basically, Congress is the primary authority responsible for providing oversight, and when Congress refuses to do that job, then people can be convinced that, "Gee, well, if Congress isn't doing it, then NOBODY IS!"

In other words, if Congress did a good job of providing opposition to the president like it's supposed to, and Congress said, "There's nothing to be seen here, move along," a lot of people who might tend towards believing in conspiracy would take them at their word and move along.

conspiracy nuts still think we never landed on the moon ya know.

Yeah, and when has a poll on that shown that 40%+ of Americans think the government is covering it up?

40% think our government is covering up details on 9/11? If so I would be interested in seeing how the question was posed. I would buy that but not the idea that WE performed the actual attacks.

also, the nutballs would still be out in full force regardless of congressional oversight or Bushie doing a live powerpoint discussion.

good point though.

I would feel a lot better about everything going on in America, even having Bush in office still (which I still think sucks for us), if we had a Democratic Congress to balance it out. And if a Dem gets the White House in 2008 (unlikely) then a Repub congress.

Just my opinion. I think balance is good.

I recall seeing that 40%+ of the American public (in a poll) believes that we need further investigation of 9/11.

(of course, I think that something is not being disclosed, and I don't think that there's a problem with that. Some stuff needs to stay secret.)

also, the nutballs would still be out in full force regardless of congressional oversight or Bushie doing a live powerpoint discussion.

Agree, but there are always people who are persuadable either way, and if Congress was doing a good job of providing oversight, a lot of those people wouldn't even give the nutjobs the time of day. Which is my main point.

The administration being secretive with the public is normal and expected in a time of war. The administration being as secretive as it is with Congress is not. And Congress refusing to pursue oversight is not either.

(Like I said, this is all changing now that Bush is 40%- in the polls and is a drag on re-election for some Congressmen. But for the longest time, oversight was a word that wasn't in the dictionary of the Republican Congress.)
