I saw him go down, but I didnt have audio where I was watching the game.

Anyone know if he's ok?

I think he came back in later in the game, if I remember the report from the Oklahoman yesterday.

Take that with a grain of salt.

I think he's ok, he came in and played later in the game, and you could see him standing on the sidelines, occasionally jogging a little bit. I think it was said that he had a 'severe cramp' or something like that.

Dodged a bullet if he's still healthy

He seemed to be okay. The coaches said he graded out the best of all the O-linemen, so I'm glad he's okay.

Impressive he graded out best of the bunch.

Disappointing, btw, to see Messner get beat on the sack/fumble of ENA. Although ENA clearly should have stepped up in the pocket. I'll think Paul will learn to feel the pressure a little better as he gets more live action/reps.

Walker (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Marcus%20Walker&CATEGORY=PERSON) involved in CB competition Oklahoma (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Oklahoma%20Sooners&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) defensive coordinator Brent Venables (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Brent%20Venables&CATEGORY=PERSON) said Sunday that junior D.J. Wolfe (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=D.J.%20Wolfe&CATEGORY=PERSON) is currently not in the picture to start at the boundary cornerback position next Saturday at Oregon.

Instead, Lendy Holmes (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Lendy%20Holmes&CATEGORY=PERSON) and Marcus Walker (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Marcus%20Walker&CATEGORY=PERSON) will compete in practice this week for the starting job.
"D.J. will still have opportunities to get back out on the field," Venables (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Brent%20Venables&CATEGORY=PERSON) said. "In what capacity, it kind of remains to be seen."
Holmes (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Lendy%20Holmes&CATEGORY=PERSON) was adequate in place of Wolfe (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=D.J.%20Wolfe&CATEGORY=PERSON) on Saturday, replacing him late in the second quarter after Wolfe (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=D.J.%20Wolfe&CATEGORY=PERSON) was burned on a 51-yard pass from Washington quarterback Isaiah Stanback (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Isaiah%20Stanback&CATEGORY=PERSON) to Anthony Russo (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Anthony%20Russo&CATEGORY=PERSON).
Walker (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Marcus%20Walker&CATEGORY=PERSON) shed his redshirt in the ninth game of his freshman season and started the last four at cornerback.
Injuries derailed his sophomore season, but his play in fall camp has him in the mix for a starting job again.
"In fairness to Marcus, you still want to try to put your best corner on the field," Venables (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Brent%20Venables&CATEGORY=PERSON) said.

Brandon Walker (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Brandon%20Walker&CATEGORY=PERSON) impressive: OU offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Kevin%20Wilson&CATEGORY=PERSON) said guard Brandon Walker (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Brandon%20Walker&CATEGORY=PERSON) had the best showing of all the offensive linemen Saturday. Walker (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Marcus%20Walker&CATEGORY=PERSON) missed a few plays with an apparent leg injury, but he returned to finish the game.
Overall, Wilson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Kevin%20Wilson&CATEGORY=PERSON) was displeased with the play of his offensive line, tight ends included.
"We had some busts and hits on the QB," Wilson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Kevin%20Wilson&CATEGORY=PERSON) said. "We weren't near as good up front or at the tight end position, which in the first game, we thought those positions played reasonably well.
"Going into this week at Oregon, we'll need all 11 positions clicking better as a group."

Fun with numbers: Adrian Peterson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Adrian%20Peterson&CATEGORY=PERSON) will likely become OU's all-time leading rusher by the end of October. With 3,337 rushing yards for his career, he needs just 781 yards to surpass Billy Sims' school record of 4,118.
At his current pace, Peterson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Adrian%20Peterson&CATEGORY=PERSON) would pass Sims on his fourth carry of the Oct. 28 game at Missouri.
Of course, that would require Peterson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Adrian%20Peterson&CATEGORY=PERSON) to maintain his averages of 28 carries and 152 yards per game.

Much better in the running game and nearly perfect in his pass blocking. Peterson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Adrian%20Peterson&CATEGORY=PERSON) will be the best player on the field in virtually every game he plays this season. When he plays physical, like he did against Washington, he turns a 2-yard run into a 5- or 6-yarder. Wilson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Kevin%20Wilson&CATEGORY=PERSON) says he wasn't trying to be negative in his comments last week, and he wasn't trying to challenge Peterson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Adrian%20Peterson&CATEGORY=PERSON). He just wanted his star running back to focus his talents better. So far, so good.

Will D.J. Wolfe (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Will%20D.J.%20Wolfe&CATEGORY=PERSON) and Keenan Clayton (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Keenan%20Clayton&CATEGORY=PERSON) return to starting roles in the OU secondary after being replaced Saturday?
No and maybe. Wolfe's role in the secondary is not well defined by OU coaches right now after his poor play in the first two games. Lendy Holmes (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Lendy%20Holmes&CATEGORY=PERSON), who replaced Wolfe (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Will%20D.J.%20Wolfe&CATEGORY=PERSON) on Saturday, and Marcus Walker (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Marcus%20Walker&CATEGORY=PERSON), who has been the backup to Reggie Smith (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Reggie%20Smith&CATEGORY=PERSON) at the other cornerback spot, will compete for the start at boundary corner, defensive coordinator Brent Venables (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Brent%20Venables&CATEGORY=PERSON) said. Clayton (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Keenan%20Clayton&CATEGORY=PERSON) and Jason Carter (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Jason%20Carter&CATEGORY=PERSON) will have the week to battle in practice for the start at strong safety. Carter (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Jason%20Carter&CATEGORY=PERSON) certainly could have helped his case by coming down with at least one of the two interceptions he had in his hands Saturday.
Bob Stoops (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Bob%20Stoops&CATEGORY=PERSON) said Sunday that whoever has the best week in practice will start and see the majority of playing time at Oregon.

Will Reggie Smith (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Reggie%20Smith&CATEGORY=PERSON) become more involved with the offense?
Yes, as he's needed. Maybe Venables (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Brent%20Venables&CATEGORY=PERSON) has realized he can't sacrifice as many plays without Smith at cornerback, but Smith will be used as needed on offense, Stoops (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Bob%20Stoops&CATEGORY=PERSON) said.
He was in for two offensive snaps Saturday, partly because of the return of Manuel Johnson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Manuel%20Johnson&CATEGORY=PERSON) from injury and partly because OU didn't need the extra weapon on offense.
But look for Smith to appear a few more times this week. The screen pass out of a five-receiver set that OU ran a few times against Washington is perfect for a player with Smith's talents.

In what areas do the Sooners (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Oklahoma%20Sooners&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) need the most improvement heading into Saturday's game at Oregon?
Offensive line and defensive tackle. Paul Thompson (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Paul%20Thompson&CATEGORY=PERSON) took a couple extra hits this week, and the offensive linemen were flagged for six of OU's seven penalties (five false starts and one for holding).
Brian Simmons (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Brian%20Simmons&CATEGORY=PERSON)' possible return this week from injury could add depth at guard.
The defensive tackles allowed more big plays than anyone Saturday.
Redshirt freshman DeMarcus Granger (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=DeMarcus%20Granger&CATEGORY=PERSON) drew praise for his performance in the second half, but in all, Bob Stoops (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Bob%20Stoops&CATEGORY=PERSON) said the play of the defensive tackles was just "OK."
True freshman Gerald McCoy (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Gerald%20McCoy&CATEGORY=PERSON) has yet to see the field, but it's not for sure he will redshirt this season. Venables (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Brent%20Venables&CATEGORY=PERSON) said Sunday he could work his way into the rotation at defensive tackle.

How did Oregon look against Fresno State (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=California%20State%20University-Fresno&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) late Saturday night?
For those who dozed off at a decent hour and missed the end of the Ducks' 31-24 win over Fresno State (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=California%20State%20University-Fresno&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION), here's the quick breakdown:
Oregon wasn't as impressive as it was in the season-opening rout of Stanford (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Stanford%20University&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION). The Ducks looked mediocre at times, though they were without star tailback Jonathan Stewart (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Jonathan%20Stewart&CATEGORY=PERSON), sidelined by a sprained ankle.
A touchdown run by kicker Paul Martinez (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Paul%20Martinez&CATEGORY=PERSON) on a fake field goal with less than five minutes to play sealed the win.
On a positive note for Sooner fans, Fresno State (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=California%20State%20University-Fresno&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) tailback Dwayne Wright (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Dwayne%20Wright&CATEGORY=PERSON), 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, rushed for 153 yards on 29 carries.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that Scott Wright was my best friend in high school.

At OU, I hosted a sportstalk show with him and Chris Callahan from KOCO.

So, neener neener and stuff.
