I'm thinking it's an aunt. I don't think she's really laughing at his situation per se, b/c she only looks at him after she's already been cracking up. You know how you get when the adrenalline goes rushing through your body. She was probably getting off on the thrill and him screaming made her laugh, but the rush intensified it.

I couldn't agree more. Before she looked over, she almost assuredly didn't know he had slipped from his seat. She was probably laughing because he was being such a baby. If she's close to the family, it probably wasn't a shocker for her.

After she looked over, I think it was probably obvious to her that he wasn't in mortal danger. My god, that harness wasn't just over his chest. It was over his lap (miraculously), and also around his legs. He wasn't going anywhere.

Anyone who's stood around watching that or similar rides on a state fair midway or amusement park knows that every couple of groups has someone freak out just about like that.

And, as stated, she did pat him. Saying she was mean, or cruel, is frankly ridiculous.

The only thing that kid was in danger of was peeing his pants.

I guess I'm weird in that I don't find that to be too funny.

I saw a chunky kid freak out like that on the pirate ship at Frontier City once. Except his mom was screaming "Stop the riiiiiiiiide! Stop the riiiiiiide!"

Which only made me laugh more.

OK so I've seen a shorter clip of that before, it was also cropped where you couldn't see the lab belt. I felt bad for the kid the first time I saw it and I thought it wasn't a bit funny. This time though, you can tell he's not really falling out of the seat, he has "shifted" because his fat was too soft to resist against the belt. I did laugh at it this time. Her sadistic laugh makes it much better.:D
