Ah, that was just caused by CIA operatives being directed from the White House.

Pray for the families today. I"m guessing they are going to struggle. A lot.

At 9:00, Lee Hanson received a call from his son Peter:

It's getting bad, Dad-A stewardess was stabbed-They seem to have knives and Mace-They said they have a bomb-It's getting very bad on the plane-Passengers are throwing up and getting sick-The plane is making jerky movements-I don't think the pilot is flying the plane-I think we are going down-I think they intend to go to Chicago or someplace and fly into a building-Don't worry, Dad- If it happens, it'll be very fast-My God, my God.

The call ended abruptly. Lee Hanson had heard a woman scream just before it cut off. He turned on a television, and in her home so did Louise Sweeney. Both then saw the second aircraft hit the World Trade Center

Watched the replay of the documentary made by the French brothers last night. Just as emotional now as I was the first time I watched it.

I lost it when they showed people jumping from the towers.

I cannot find a picture of it, not sure that I would want too, but they showed a man and woman hold hands as they jumped.

There are a number of those pics at Strange Cosmos.......obviously, that would have been a horrible feeling to have to make that choice.

the stories that get me are the Firemen and Policemen.

it's one thing to be caught in something by surprise, it's quite another to go in like they did and lose their lives saving people

What really ticks me is that people don't get it that the Moslems are hell-bent on taking over the world! There's no tolerance with them.
It's either convert or DIE!!

Definitely we should never forget this (how could we).

But should we really be making a huge media-driven anniversiary out of this? I don't think so. The people who lost loved ones should do whatever they see fit, God bless them, but the national "Let's Relive 9/11" deal is making me nauseated.

Not to mention we're giving the people who did this something to cheer about, something to give them hope and inspire them. I wonder if making a big deal out of the 5-year anniversiary empowers their ridiculous belief that they could bring down the U.S. with terrorist attacks.

Good.

Cause if it made you feel good, then there is something really screwed up about you.

We should do exactly this until the day this war is over. Until that time has come, we should remember what these bastards can do, and what else they might do if we don't confront them and kill them first.

Addressing the West, the al-Qaida No. 2 said, "You should not waste your time in reinforcing your troops in Iraq and Afghanistan because their fate is doomed ... Instead, you have to reinforce your troops in two regions. First is the Gulf, where you would be thrown out ... and second is Israel."http://apnews.myway.com/article/20060911/D8K2MC280.html

I know we're on the same page with this because I just read your thread on this subject, but just to clarify my statement: It's not the simple rememberance making me nauseated (though it DOES make me sick) ... it's the glammed-up media coverage this is getting, the nationwide, televised public gatherings of remembrance, etc.

I just keep getting the feeling this is exactly what those terrorists want to see, and gives them a reason for living their miserable lives.

I agree with you.

I kind of think that the memorial for this site should be 2 larger and taller world trade centers. I wouldn't give a rats *** if they sat empty either. Maybe they should.

I just think the sight of that would be demoralizing to the enemy.

I always thought they should have rebuilt them as well too. I understand it may not have been a practical plan but it would have been nice to see them rebuilt.

I thought they were going to rebuild? Has that plan changed? I really think it'd be a slap in the face to all responsible for this attack if we rebuilt.

I believe its going to be this thing...

http://i.cnn.net/cnn/interactive/us/0312/gallery.freedom.tower/02.ap.jpg

Its smaller, as not to be such a target I guess.

Kind of reminds me of some one who gets punched in the mouth, falls down, then doesn't stand up so tall afterwards to avoid getting hit again.

F'k that panzy *** way of thinking. Build it bigger. Hell, add a thrid one just to **** them off even more.

We don't forget D-Day.
We don't forget Pearl Harbor.
We should never forget to honor those who fell.
We should never forget that it could happen again.
Pray for the families for those who were lost. This day has to be hard for them.

I didn't lose anyone that i know on this dark day, yet it's impossible to watch any stories or documentaries about this day without shedding several tears; if I feel that badly, i can only imagine how truly horrible this day is for those thousands of people that lost friends and family to these sick bastards
