I get home and on my tool bar there is a flashing ? mark. Than A bubble comes up and sayes "critical system error". I hit the button and the internet explorer opens to a WWW.VIRUSBURSTCOM. Its an anti spyware add.

I have tried evething I know. Which is very very little. I tried to search files to delete it, I ran my other spyware, i deleted cookies.

But it is still on my tool bar and the critial system error Info bubble still comes up.

How can these ba$tards think i will but their **** when they do this to me.

you might look for anything strange in msconfig

does it show up in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel?

I hate to ask the obvious, but have you rebooted?

Try invoking Task Manager, looking under "processes" for a process that starts with the string "virusburst" or something similar. If you find it, stop the process, exit Task Manager, and do a search for the file and delete it. Not high-probability, but worth a try.

Nope nothing there. I did do a search for file name.. nothing there either

Download Windows Defender. It's free. It might catch something Adaware did not.

If that doesn't work, try e-mailing the support folks for Virusburst and asking for help. Again, not high-probability, but it's all I got. Sorry about your situation. :(

here is a page on removing it:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/securityblog/2006/08/31/virusburst-rogue-antispyware/

i don't endorse any downloads from any links that may be on there, you might do some further google searches for downloads from somewhere you actually trust ;)

i would NOT contact virusburst support

unless it was to give them the virtual "finger"

Good jorb, yermom. Homer, let us know if it works. I suspect you may not be the only one to suffer this scenario.
