I know this rule came into effect during the offseason due to the annoying and excessive talk of the whorns. But now that the football season has started, shouldn't it be ok to talk about the whorns in regards to football? It makes sense for this rule in the offseason, just not during the season IMHO...
...and honestly, if you're bashing the whorns, shouldn't you be encouraged to do that 24/7?

i'm not really that interested in them so i don't read any threads about them. i only read sooner related threads or threads about teams i have interest in (upcoming opponents, exciting games etc.).
i say call off the rule until after Oct. 7.
then... well, let's just let the scoreboard determine how quickly the rule comes back ;)

Ok,just to point out some things. The No Texas Tuesday rule is not enforced. It gets broken every week. So I wouldn't put too much thought into it.

Your thread yesterday is the reason I brought this up. I mean come on, it was talking about the upcoming game the whorns have and what kind of impact it would have on OU. It wasn't whorn bashing (well, not too much), just football talk and it got locked.

(this same logic got me "escorted" off of owen field in '99 for "trying to insight a riot", I was just a drunk kid trying to encourage the group to take the goal post down)

I guess you really don't get it. I'd much prefer a whornbashing thread to a "just football talk" thread about those jackals.
Nothing the whorns do has an impact on OU - except what they do on one Saturday in October. If OU runs the table, the whorns can suck it. Their game with the buckeyes be damned. And you can still gobble up all the whorn goo you want. Just don't do it on Tuesday. Is that so hard?

Or take a Maurice Clarett sized anal plunging. Which would seriously warm the cockles of my cold, dark heart.

No truer words have been spoken. 'When' not 'if' OU beats Texas this year and I will be in Dallas again for my fourth straight year to see it. Granted last year Vince had an admirable season but those days and for many years to come are over with for the horndogs.

Well, yeah. It is tough. Living here in texass especially since jan has been hell. Let's say I have some whorn talk crap to me on a tuesday, because I proudly have Sooner memoriabilia on my desk (which happens a lot since the season started), I can't come here and vent by doing some whorn bashing or football talk with my fellow Sooners. This is an outlet for some of us!! It's our god given right, as Sooners, to hate texass on tuesday or any other day of the week. I don't think it is too much to ask to remove the rule during the season or at least until Oct. 7th and then re-evaluate at that time...

I think if Ohio State wins out and USC wins out we are in real jeopardy of being the odd team out this year...btw, I do not really care about the Tuesday rule, do want you want on that, it seems kind of silly to extend it in perpetuity but while you have the hammer you will do what you want...no real impact on me, many Tuesdays I do not even log on to Soonerfans....

I'm not so sure it is guaranteed, if there are two other teams undefeated, lets say ohio st and ND, do you really think OU will beat them out in the BCS?

If you've declared a whole day "No Horns Day" haven't you elevated their status by calling attention to them and setting aside a day dedicated to forcibly avoiding any discussion about them? In essence you have glorified their stinking program by giving them a status enjoyed by no other Sooner opponent...even Callahan's Bugeaters.
In my opinion, not giving the stinking horn program any special attention would be the way to go. Treating them the same as any other team the Sooners are going to steamroll this season is the most fitting thing we could do, IMVHO.
I submit it to you Greg. Are we going to stand by and allow the indictment of the Sooner tradition of loathing for the horns 24/7 to go unchallenged? Because if we do aren't we really allowing the indictment of the entire American way of life?

If you don't like the rules, then present an intelligent reason why they should be changed and see what happens. Don't like the rule if it is not changed.. go post somewhere else. Then again, I've become pretty benign on here... for the most part. ;)
Now, it is humorous to see the apoplectic fits screaming out.. "IT'S NLT" as if the world will come to an end if even the slightest shade of burnt orange is mentioned on that day! :D

I guess most people forget about that magical season when we had 4 undefeated teams - 1 in the SEC that didn't make the BCS NC game.
Do you really think that if tOSU, S.C., OU, & a SEC team went undefeated - that we'd go to the BCS NC game . . . . Guaranteed?!?
(I know that this scenario is pretty far out there, but hell, it happened once . . . what makes us think that it can't happen again)
Because of our "lack of success" in the recent BCS title games, and the loss to KSU in the Big XII championship game & still "getting in" to the BCS Championship game against LSU - I think many would be sorely mistaken when those BCS voters are choosing between 4 or even for that matter 3 undefeated teams.
That's why us dropping 5 spots last week could be huge. Just think if that SEC team that would go undefeated was TENN! They jumped our asses with that win over Cal . . .
Just some food for thought . . . :pop:

So, let me get this straight. Allowing you guys to go on and on and on - ad nauseum about the filth to our south will make it more likely that OU will win a national championship. HMMMM.
I guess what's bugging me is that a bunch of Sooners, on a Sooner board, are whining like little beyotches because they can't post about the whorns on one day out of the week. This is sad. Nay, pathetic.
If one of you decides to withdraw your sponsorship because of the no-scum on Tuesday rule, let me just say - upfront - that you're a major league loser.
No whorn tuesday will continue to be in effect as it always is. Sometimes monitored very closely, sometimes not. Your transgressions will be judged/punished by whatever mod happens to click on the thread. I don't know about the other guys, but if I happen to be the guy on tuesday, your thread/post is going down in flames. Anything whorn can surely wait a few hours to Wednesday. Or if you just can't stand it, go play on whornfans.com.
