Yeah, it's early...but the Heisman race is on and (like it or not) ESPN has huge sway.

After Week One:

Each week, ESPN.com's panel of experts casts their votes for the top Heisman candidates. The panel consists of analysts, former players, former coaches and ESPN.com's college football staff.

Ginn and Smith vs. Quinn should split the east and midwest votes enough that if Peterson has anything near his freshman year he should walk away with it.

Yes indeed, he's a real Vince Young that Troy Smith is.

We'll see come Saturday night.

But.......IF he does walk all over your horns will you still think the same about him?

He isn't going to walk all over Texas next week. That game looks to be low scoring. Texas only forgets playing defense when they walk into the Cotton or Rose Bowl (but of course there have been obvious exceptions!)

good point.

If tOSU beats Texas though and Smith's numbers are good, his status will skyrocket.

But if Adrian stays healthy he's got a good shot at it....I think becoming the all-time rushing leader at the University of Oklahoma in his junior year could have a huge impact on the voters if/whenever that happens.

or when Arkansas comes to town

Smith seems like a better passer than VY, but i doubt he is close to the scrambler that he was

Smith will have to have a good game against Texas,if he is going to stay in the lead.

While Troy Smith is a solid college QB, he is no VY. Smith actually reminds me of the ISU QB a few years ago but his name escapes me.

Wallace wasn't that great of a passer though, was he?

seems he didn't do much after our game that year, at least you didn't hear much. i think a lot of his hype was from beating a newly mediocre NU team

he's a WR at some playoff team from last year, i want to say either the Seahawks or the Panthers?
