7pm Central Time

See the road to the Cavaliers' 5th championship in 7 years as well as the mighty collapse of The Cadets to 5th.

Great shows this year from the Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, Phantom Regiment, Cavaliers, and Carolina Crown.

He marched with, IIRC, The Blue Devils

Oh, wait...

Yes. I know what it is.

Wanker.

You know, one of those Blue Devils could easily take a drum stick and make a nice, hairy Pat-cicle. :mack:

That explains a lot...

I think that's what happened to Steve Irwin.

Wow, that was a pretty decent production. Haven't seen em put it together that good before.

The Wichita crowds always seemed to prefer Phantom Regiment's shows over even Blue Devils and Cadets. Even the year Cadets did Chester (which was pretty damn good) the crowd up there went nuts for Phantom.

Phantom rules, I cant stand the cadets I hate them more than any other corps. My favorite would probably be phantom, and in second would be probably santa clara and then blue devils/madison and then probably the crossmen.

I hate them all. it should be renamed DQI.

Nothing like guys in sparkly blue twirling fake rifles.

DCI on ESPN2 and Poker on ESPN...what in the world is happening!?!?!?!?!

Phantom put on one HELL of a show, and that's the first show I ever saw (or marched) that I didn't see Cavvies win High Drums.

...but they still won, so it'll still be a party on the couples bus tonight.

:D

Crown would've beat Blue Knights if their percussion didn't freakin get 12th. Same with Cadets getting 5th. But then again, that was a 3.8 point difference between them and PR. I have no idea when the Cavies' staff is going to run out of ideas. Every year, they have great amounts of creativity and don't need stages, singing chicks, guys in bunny suits showing off a huge unit, or uniform modifications.

I still think the Blue Devils are teh awesome.

Give me chills and what-not...

The Cavaliers show was fantastic. Interesting how a PRECISE show with little props, good tunes and smart marching/formations can look better than many of the "production" shows.

I was thinking, ESPN took this **** over rugby or Australian Rules Football?
Like it if you want, that's fine, but please, NOT on a SPORTS network.
GAhhhhh.
The apocalypse is surely near.

OK, I'm going. Carry on with your marching band love-fest.

There's no good way to ask this so I'm gonna just ask:

When did DC get all...flamboyant and stuff? 'Faust'? C'mon...

Did they change the way they score/judge them and now give more points for creativity or something?

[Old Lady Voice] Back in my day we didn't have no dudes lookin' like they stepped out of a production of 'Cats' out there dancin' around [/Old Lady Voice]

Okay. I'm done. It just bothered me. A. Lot.

I think it's funny someone mentioned the couples bus and the cavvies in the same sentence. Reminds me of a few stories I heard about the color guard quarters. :P

Norman, reminds me of a few stories I saw about the guard quarters when they were housed with us. Yikes! NTTAWWT

TUSooner, I know, we have things like poker and a spelling bee on there. Fiddlesticks, we even have the Scrabble championships and even Magic the Gathering on during the afternoons!

But while they're doing all that crap, I might as well enjoy my passtime on the network.

Okay, did anyone like the "Cirque du Soleil" type show of (I think) the Cadets? I and the Mrs. thought it was gay and none of the announcers picked up on its styling...I thought for a corps show, it was dumb.

I miss the good old days with corps like the Velvet Knights, they were always fun!! Or that local corp I marched with Black Gold. I was supposed to be with Van Guard when they won it in '89! But Noooo!!!! 'ol Fish had to go join the Navy!!!
