I heard that Shropshire, a former sportswriter, recently wrote a book about the OU/[NLT] game. I enjoyed his previous books about the first few seasons of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. Has anybody read his new one? Any good?

I've read his book on the Rangers. Funny stuff.

Seasons In Hell: With Billy Martin, Whitey Herzog And "The Worst Baseball Team In History"-The 1973-1975 Texas Rangers (http://www.amazon.com/Seasons-Hell-Baseball-History-1973-1975/dp/0803292775/sr=1-2/qid=1157486897/ref=sr_1_2/103-9228701-8215008?ie=UTF8&s=books)

"Even before the start of spring training, Herzog had said, 'If Rich Billings is the starting catcher again, we're in deep trouble.' When that evaluation was passed along to Billings, he simply nodded and said, 'Whitey, obviously, has seen me play.'"

Great book, one of my all time favorites. The book he did on Parcells' first year with the Cowboys was pretty good, too, but not quite as good as "Seasons in Hell," primarily because Shropshire had the first-person perspective as a Rangers' beat writer.

Why is the cover ****ed up? They got it wrong. It's Oklahoma - (you know who) game.

Even the cover pic makes it seem like it should be that way.
