If you ever want to make yourself sick. I was watching on the Learning Channel reality tv show that follows around a part of the Arkansas National Guard near Fallejuh and then flip it over to Reality Tv show "My Sweet 16" on MTV. If MTV wants to know why their rating are going down, maybe they should look at the fact that if we wanted to watch little spoiled bitches get everything they want, we would at least watch the little spoiled bitch doing common every day things like Paris and Nicole on their crappy show. I mean seriously the difference in these two shows is SO powerful. The soldiers are excited because they get a small patch of grass to grow from back home...these girls are complaining because they don't get the Lexus they want. It's time this country starts to support the real heroes and stops rewarding asshattery. :pop:

MTV is the worst groups of channels on television now... You used to be able to at least catch some video's on MTV2, but now it's gone. Idiots...

MTV sucks..they need to change it to NMTV...as in No Music Television...I mean seriously it would be like BET only having white people on their shows!

Didn't the soldiers have their own show too? Are you complaining that military show wasn't on MTV? Or are you complaining that MTV makes an economic decision to pursue programming that enhances Viacom's bottom line? Or are you complaining that you don't think enough people are watching the show you value more? Or are you complaining that in a world with triple digit numbers of cable channels there is programming you don't like? Are you arguing that freedom of choice among television programming is a bad thing because you don't believe some shows have sufficent gravitas?

I think he's saying that it's a sad day in America when everything is marketed to 13 year old girls and that a kick-*** show about Arkansas Guardsmen draws a smaller share of the viewing audience than a dumbassed show about spoiled chicks does.

How is everything thing in America marketed to 13 year old girls because one channel is? Of course that show is going to draw a bigger share of the audience at this time of day. Look at who would be watching TV at this time of day. That's capitalism and it's what makes America great.

Do you get out of the house much? Yes, I understand that combines and threshers are not marketed to 13 year old girls but do you listen to the radio? Watch TV? Buy clothes?

Why do you hate teenagers? They are tremdous source of disposable income, and thus will have a lot of stuff geared towards them and selling stuff towards them. That's the way things work. Maybe in socialist country TV programming has to have redeeming social value, but not here. If 13 year old girls didn't spur a lot of consumer spending stuff wouldn't be marketed towards them. Not embracing that would hurt the United States economy, and with the rapidly cooling housing market, teenagers with high disposable income will be neccessary. Television and Media is a marketing tool, nothing more, and I don't see why people act like it isn't.

I think you can market shows to teens without the pointless crap that is MTV.

I think royalfan5 is a pedophile. All he wants to do is talk about 13 year old girls when the original post was mainly about Arkansas Guardsmen in Iraq.

Actually ratings for MTV are falling incredibly. I am ****ed at MTV in general. They do a special on Iraq and instead of showing soldiers who are MTV age...they show the policies that lead to the "disaster" in Iraq. They are a bunch of Bush hating asshats that are so out of touch..they are even losing their beloved 13 year old audience
