I used to work for Devon, but I have a good amount of stock still. It was a good day.

Gas close to $2.00 by election day...Its a Republican conspiracy to keep them in power...
The company said it found the oil producing formation about 20,000 feet below the bottom of the Gulf, with the well drilled to a total depth of 28,175 feet.
Holy carp! How much oil is in the sucker rods to get it to the top?
That's 5 1/3 miles below according to this: http://www.metric-conversions.org/length/feet-to-miles.htm

I'll bet that the first 8,175 feet went faster than the last. ;)

They don't use sucker rods in offshore wells. Also, sucker rods are not hollow.
Also, sucker rods are not hollow.
Mine is.
Well, sort of.
Nevermind.

On the one hand, I'll be ecstatic if gas gets back to 2.00 a gallon.
On the other hand, gas will still be 2.00 a gallon.

Er...
I missed the critical relationship of oil to the sattelite provider industry...

All them people working on location gots to have there TV.
Anyone in the oil/gas industry, or anyone with common sense, knows that the gulf is a black gold mine. Didnt Messico just lay "claim" to a reserve in the gulf, and proclaim exclusive rights to it?
The US oil/gas industry could be self sufficient if allowed to explore/drill freely in any territory. Some people like to stand in the way of progress.
