Peterson needs to catch more passes.
1 catch for 69 yards... Turn him into a wide receiver. What an average.
I dont think the defense improves much this weekend. Unless you leave Wolfe on the sidelines. He was horrible. Only shiny spot on the d was Rufus and he got better as the game went on.AD gets better as the game goes on as well.

Agreed. We are going to get eaten up on play-action if the safeties continue to bite and DJ is left in man coverage. He got took twice that I saw, against a UAB receiver. They seemed to be picking on his side as well. The rest of the D seems to be over-pursuing on the corners leaving the middle open. Brent need to put his boys in check real quick. ENA looks decent and AD is ridiculous.

Hopefully Bob & Brent will be less aggressive and allow the game to come to them instead of spending all day blitzing and missing tackles.

That and we can't possibly have another -3 TO margin at home.

I did pick OU to beat UAB 23-9. Missed ours by 1, and theirs by 8--not too bad.

This week:

Udub - 13

bstuff1979

OU-30 UW-21
The OU 4-3 D didn't really look all that great (possibly too much blitzing w/ the running qb, the d-ends really didn't hold up their end of the bargain w/ missed tackles and flying out into zone before reading the play) against a mobile qb, and that's exactly what UW has. I think the D will give up a big play or two, but will play better than the score will indicate. If the wr's on OU's O play up to the level that they should have last week it'll be nice. Thompson played really well considering the unbelievable presure that he must have felt, but I think the wr's let him down a couple of times. Hopefully Wilson will mix in some plays with a lead blocker too.

I'm thinking we'll see more Joe Jon and Gresham. D wakes up and plays a stellar game. AD has 100 yds by half-time and ENA throws for 250 with no INTs. OU has only one turnover, and gets 2 from UW. Look for a long punt return from Reggie.

I think a couple of things will happen for a greater margin of victory this week. First, UW has been knocked for the play of their secondary (they gave up >300 yards to the SJSU QB). They'll probably try to stack the box against Peterson but if Thompson can be efficient like against UAB then I think they'll be forced to play us honest and that should open up the run game. Second, they gave up 29 points to San Jose State. Surely we have a better offense than SJSU. Third, I like that Wilson is being hard on Peterson, hopefully everyone on offense will be more focused with less turnovers. This combined with the fact UW didn't force any turnovers against SJSU has me optimistic. Finally, I think that our defense will come out with a chip on its shoulder. The drop in the polls should be good bulletin board material.

The only major negative I forsee is if people start looking ahead to the quacks too soon.

Where's the token U-Dub fan to prove everyone wrong in their predictions? What I thought. At least two of OUr three big deficiencies see a major improvement. Tackling is 100% better. Turnovers are effectively minimized. 1 overthrown ENA ball is picked. Reggie takes one kickoff to the house. D causes at least two TOs. ENA looks better than last week. AD hits his groove.

I picked us to win by a small ammount although I don't know if I ever said 7. This one we win easy, but not a major arse wooping... Just watch we match up well with UW, and they have a sloppy but talented defense.

OU - 27

Only one turnover. A single Interception on PT, 2 AD TD's, and 1 PT TD.

EDIT: I never made an official prediction so no spec for me :) http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1517997&postcount=71

Hey guys! Best of luck this weekend and enjoy the game. I love the fark forum and read the stuff regularly. Keys of the game to watch for as an Okla fan are:

The running of Isiah Stanback. He's the fastest QB in college and at 6'3 220 a big athlete. Throws better than expected.

Marcel Reece in the slot. If he gets the ball look out. 4.49 forty at 245 lbs.

The run defense is much better than the pass so if the UW can stop the run, the game will be very close.

Anyway best of luck and go Huskies!

Cheers!

Let's hope we spy Stanback with Ruuufus early on. Once we did that to the UAB QB Hunt, it was pretty much over. I don't know if Ruuu is fast enough to stay with him, but I think Stanback needs a shadow early.

If Ruuuufus plants him on his back early and often, he'll think twice about doing much running in the second half. ;)

He's a bad, bad man....and his defense was embarrassed by UAB last week. I would not want to be on the Washington Husky offense for all the money in the world on Saturday...
