these divisions in the big 12 pretty much suck after looking.

the south division has oklahoma and texas (which are top 10 teams almost every year).
texas a&m is normally a top 25 team.

texas tech and and oklahoma state aren't top 25 MOST of the time... but they are typically competitive.
baylor... well, the're about like vandy... get your win and move on.

in the big 12 north... nebraska is the ONLY team i'd ever expect to see ranked in the top 5 nationwide.

kansas state and iowa st will challenge for top 25 on occasion. other than that... the north is pretty weak.

the big 12 south kinda got screwed in this split.... most of the talented teams are in the big 12 south.

edit: i'm not flaming the big 12 in anyway... this just seems like an unfair split.
i'm not overly happy with the sec split either so it's not a big 12 flame in any way.

^ KSU didn't do much better than CU. They won by 1 against a 1AA team when their opponent scored a TD down 7 at the end and went for 2 but failed.

which goes back to my point. other than nebraska, how many big 12 north teams will challenge oklahoma and texas this year? or next year, or the next year, etc.

After 1 game, i think any team in the North could give us fits this season; however, i do expect much improvement from this team, but the next 2 weeks should tell us what kind of season to expect

Baylor is no Vandy. They have always been better than Vandy until recently. In the old SWC in the 70's and 80's, Baylor almost always won at least 7 games and went to a bowl game. And they are getting better again. But like Vandy, they have a tough row to hoe is a conference filled with large public universities. That being said, Miami and USC are actually private schools.

It was only a few years ago that the North was the 800 lb gorilla of the conference--Nebraska and Kansas State were Top 10 caliber, and Colorado was in the mix too. It will be interesting to see if Kansas State will crawl back under their rock now that Bill Snyder is gone.

I'll still bet the CU student body celebrated with another riot or rape after the game. Gotta hand it to those guys.....a loss to anyone is just as good an excuse as a win to burn a few buildings or rape a few coeds.

Wonder if the students started rioting inside the stadium and security had to clear out the student seating sections?
