I know we had to climb from the ranks to get in contention, but who remembers who were the premier teams at this time in 2000? I'm pretty sure FSU was up there the whole time, but I don't remember who the other teams were that the media were hyping up...

Maybe this will help.

I think Miami was trying to lay claim on the game over FSU as they lost a close one to USC that year I think...

Pretty sure Miami got beat by Washington in 2000.

KSU and Neb were both premier at that time.

The big XII was loadedin 2000.

V-Tech, FSU and Miami were all 11-1.

We locked it by going 12-0 and winning the Big XII Championship by beating KSU a 2nd time. Once in Manhatten and once in KC.

Thanks.

I knew it was one of the top teams. I had SUC on my mind for some reason.

Miami's case was that it happen in their 1st game and that they hadn't lost the rest of the year, I think.

And they beat the criminoles on 7 oct 00 27-24. I think that was kind of the reason they questioned FSU in the OB. Of course, FSU's only loss before the OB was at Miami. So...the BCS put some head to head crap in the formula.

I think the push was on for the FSU "back to Back" and that fact that their QB won the Heisman over Josh made it the more attrative game too.

Miami fans at the Game were rude POSs IMO.

Why even show up?

Looking at that makes the 2000 season all that more impressive to me. That was a hell of a schedule that we were able to run the table on.
