I can top y'all, I used to get Phil's game reported FAXED to me. That's right, FAXED to me. That's before the discussion board was up. That's before my office had e-mail. That's before we knew his name was Phil, it was just Road Warrior.

I also remember the big debate of the day: Did OU make a mistake by firing John Blake? After all, it seemed like the team was just starting to get good . . . I think I took Blake's side.

I used to access the Road House via my Prodigy Account. 26.8 connection, 56K modem was just a teasing promise of a bright future.

I almost feel like I should put OPK's old leather helmet on and run around the block a few times. Speaking of Old, what about those Old Sooner stories?

Been here since 99.

Back in the old days the tailgates were on the west side of Jenkins and 15-20 people might show up.

Best story EVAR at a tailgate was C&CD story about riding his OU motorcycle home in a typhoon after a game. :D

Hey Dean you still have a picture of that bad boy you can post here?

Oh, and one of my favorite games was in Dallas, 1973. All 3 Selmon brothers played that year. "God Bless Mrs. Selmon," was a quote from Barry Switzer that made it on the bumper sticker.

And Tinker Owens make a great catch in the endzone that was on the cover of SI that week.

1963, Bud's last year as HC, when a dollar could get you a seat in the south endzone bleachers, a couple of dogs and a drink to boot.... not anywhere close to that when I joined last year....

If you've been posting on Sooner fans more than five years, or if any of these things ring a bell: Dr. Death, Silver Shoes, Bandana, Buster running down the NU Sideline, Elvis Peacock and Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeminy Christmas! then I say, I say, I say:

Boooooooooooomerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Haven't quite been posting 5 years but I sure remember those other things.. Barry Is still the King !

I'll jump in...

Remember Dr. Death, drank beer with Don Key and was the "drunk" guy on the Lloyd Noble wall at basketball games from 1978 to 1982.

Sooner fan since the Run of '71 but I can't remember how long I have been posting here. Hopefully attending 4 OU/Texas games though counts for something.

You are SoonerinFla? Didn't your sig say something about where hurricanes cross paths? And your dog--Rufus?

am I thinking of the same person?
