Looks like Mack picked us a whipping boy come October.

actually, this is being kept pretty under the radar, but colt played hs ball about 15 mins from where i live and his grandparents are still in this area. ran into them over the weekend and they said that he is having trouble with tendinitis in his throwing arm, and may not be able to start in the first game.

Mack: The startin' job's yours, boy.

Colt: That's great, coach, but why do you keep touching me?

I wonder if Mack will pull him after the concussion?

This could be a brutal game for both QB's. If the running games don't do anything against stacked front 7-9, the caliber of our defenses might kill them both.

This could be a brutal game for Saxet's QB. If Greg Davis is still his OC come October, Larry Birdine might kill him.

Couldn't agree more.

I wish the Snead kid would have won the job so that we could have heckled "Corky" at him. :O :D

Come on King.. that is gold. Simmons was what... 22 years ago? And, he only ran nekkid through yards in west Austin. Of course if you want to buy a BMW in Austin, he can probably fix you up. ;)

With as much vitriole as has been thrown out against Vince in the last year, a light-hearted jab at a former quarterback of yours is pretty mild.

Lid must've taken lessons from some of the farkers on this board, cause that picture is damn funny! I hate SAXET as much as the next guy, but funny is funny. Good jorb, Lid.

Nah. I just cut and pasted, can't take credit for the original.

Here's my thing with the young McCoy...

Tuscola, Texas--population 714. Yes, I said 714.

I wonder if he's ready for big time college football instead of the kind he faced at Jim Ned High School's Indian Stadium on Friday night's?

Yes, I said he went to a high school called Jim Ned.

Big difference in positions.

And you can tell whoever from Hornfans that his farking skills are weak.

Those are only $20s. ;)

Yes, it will look a lot like Buckmar's beating last season in Dallas for the new horn QBs...both Poneyboy McCoy and Corky Snead. Except it won't be dollar bills flying around, it will be the excess KY gel from the night before. :) :texan:

Texas will have to have a power running game this year, not one based on a scrambling QB.

I'm not convinced that UT's offensive line is that great. I thnk VY's scrambling ability and the respect it commanded from the opposing defensive front 7 took resulted in a more subdued pass rush and made UT's offensive line look much better than they actually were.

Couldn't have said it better if I was Brad Nessler. They may have a good O'Line, but Vince and his scrambling ability caused much of that. IMHO

Legitimate points Fan. Opposing defensive lines tried to do a controlled rush - contain scheme... They tried to keep Vince between the tackles. Ohio State was successful in that scheme after the 1st Quarter.

This year, McCoy will have to be able to check off his reads and know where his dump off man is.

Nonetheless, the experience the O-line has and the continuity counts for quite a bit.

Yep. That's why I think Texas will be a lot better in November than September.

It'll be interesting to see how GD tries to help McCoy w/ the schemes that Tressel will throw at him.

I agree that your O-Line will be good. Probably not as good as last year, but good. I just think OUr D-Line will be that much better. If we could punish VY the two years prior to last (with your defense just as awesome, your line a little better, and Ced Benson), what makes you think we won't punish McCoy this year? Personally, I think he'll be lucky if his grill only looks like this...

Most likely, I mean he's not like Mark Mangino or anything like that.

From the article posted-

Hey, it's not Jones' fault. He is what he is. You don't blame the horse for pooping in the kitchen. You blame the idiot who took the horse inside the house.
