Exactly what major transformation has taken place to the suc defense? They lost the playmaker in the secondary and they were AVERAGE last year. On top of that, they don't have the all world offense to keep them off the field so they don't get gassed late in games. I think they lose at least two games.

Yup, across the board OU was written off. Kirk made the most sense out of the three. As usual, May succed up to AD but slammed the program as a whole. Corso was a penis.

Preseason is like a Giant rumormill that gets started and snowballs. The media picks up on obvious events (usually negative) and then these just keep getting passed on and embellished until their all convinced that "that's the way it is". Very rarely do any of them focus in on how a team actually is presently looking nor team cohesion, attitudes, etc.. Stewart Mandell actually got a glimpse of how good OU is looking a couple weeks ago - but of course this could not change the negative media snowball that was rolling along. :rolleyes:

This is why the preseason polls usually get shattered after the first couple games.

I absolutely LOVE the fact that all the media is finally off OUr wagon/schooner!! Now we can get our noses back to the dirt and start cracking teams heads again!!!

I think the 2000 season was the best time of my life. Being 48 years old now, I remember a few seasons that weren't so great, and some as being great.

But to sit back and expect nothing, and watch each week as the Sooners rolled up victory after victory until the crystal ball was ours, well, that was just better than any other season I can remember. Even after we got to Number 1 in the polls and everyone expected FSU to win the Orange Bowl. Well, there was just no pressure the entire season. It was just plain fun to watch!

Corso is a penis. My wife and I were watching GameDay Preview this morning and she commented that Corso (or as she calls him...the old dude who looks like Mel Brooks) looked like he had a facelift.
