In-law feud leaves one maimed ear
A maiming in Spiro left Sidney Jordan, 53, with a warrant for her arrest and official charges of maiming filed in the District Court of LeFlore County. By Lisa Peters News Reporter A maiming in Spiro left Sidney Jordan, 53, with a warrant for her arrest and official charges of maiming filed in the District Court of LeFlore County. The report, filed on Aug. 18, states that LeFlore County Sheriff's Deputy Billy Moore responded to an assault call east of Spiro on Aug. 15. Upon his arrival, Moore reportedly met with Jordan who stated that her sister-in-law, Karen Robbins, was driving into the drive-way and would not move her vehicle. This act reportedly prohibited Jordan from continuing down the drive that the women share. According to Jordan, Robbins allegedly got out of her vehicle and motioned for Jordan to back up the driveway. The affidavit states that at this point, Jordan said that she got out of her vehicle and, "asked Karen if she wanted to fight." Jordan also stated that she noticed pepper spray in Robbins' hand and began to walk back to her truck. However, Robbins allegedly grabbed her hair and pulled her back and sprayed her with the pepper spray. The affidavit states that Jordan admitted to biting the top of Robbins' ear during the scuffle. Deputy Moore left the residence and then, according to his report, went to Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark. At the hospital, Moore met with Robbins and her husband Charles and got a conflicting story about the incident. According to statements in the affidavit Robbins stated that Jordan stopped her truck in front of Robbins. Robbins then stated that Jordan got out of her vehicle and opened Robbins' door and began to threaten her. Robbins stated that she showed Jordan the pepper spray hoping it would cause her to not press the issue any further. Robbins stated that she did spray Jordan in the face and Jordan then hit her in the face. The report states that Robbins' husband then came out and separated the two feuding women. Charles Robbins told Moore that when he came out Jordan had his wife's ear in her mouth and bit it off. Moore noticed the bruises on Robbins and that her head was bandaged. He also noted that part of Robbins' ear was in a plastic baggie.
