If he comes here and we want him he's not heading back to Lincoln.

Well, unless he's crazy!

I mean, did I miss something on the T.V. interview at the airport? I was listening with the volume way down at work and I heard him say at the end that nothing was official yet in Nebraska's favor. ESPN and azcentral.com saying he is going to Nebraska, but I haven't heard him say it. I respect Helsley enough to know he wouldn't say that Keller was coming to visit unless that is what he was told.

Who knows? Maybe Nebraska is counting their chickens too early or maybe Sam's stepdad isn't as in touch with Sam as he thinks. If nothing else, this has gotten interesting!

He's already at Nebraska and will be practicing with the program tomorrow.

Quote:

Sam Keller told a reporter Wednesday afternoon he is coming to the University of Nebraska.

Keller was seen outside Memorial Stadium at 3:38 p.m., when Nebraska football AD Tim Cassidy whisked Keller into the stadium via a side door.

If he told that to a reporter, where is the actual quote? I read where a reporter asked if he was coming to Nebraska and he said yes. Well? Does that mean he was coming to visit? Who knows how Sam took it.

So he visited the stadium--so has the guy who empties the trash!

Again, you may be right, but some journalism lessons will be learned one way or the other. Stories aren't matching up.

His scholarship papers are signed as of 6. It's over. He said it wasn't official in the interview, because it truely wasn't until he got to Lincoln and signed the paperwork.

He's gotta sit out a year, no?

Yes, he has to sit out one year per the transfer rules, but he still has his redshirt so he will be using his 5th year under the 5 to play 4 next season.

Seeing how the reporter asked Sam the question while he was at memorial stadium I don't think it meant he was coming to visit....

I'll believe it when huskers.com says it's official, not some newspaper reporter trying to "scoop" everyone else. Nothing on their site as of 6:34 p.m. CST. Kind of big news...you'd think they would have something on it...IF it were official and all, as you say.

Our coaches couldn't comment on him until it was official. Callahan addressed the media following practice today saying it was official and Keller will be available to the media tomorrow. I wouldn't really say some newspaper reporter is trying to scoop someone when everyone is saying the same thing including the head coach of the football team.

Keller officially joined the Nebraska football program Wednesday and will be available to the Huskers for the 2007 season. Keller must sit out this fall as a redshirt, per NCAA requirements for a player transferring from one Division I-A school to another.

Keller was on an afternoon flight from Phoenix to Omaha, then taken to Lincoln by Tim Cassidy, NU's associate athletic director for football. After practice Wednesday, head coach Bill Callahan confirmed that Keller was the newest Husker.

“Sam Keller has joined our football team,” Callahan said. “He’s here, he’s a Husker, he’s excited to be here and we’re excited to have him. He’ll get settled tonight and acclimated to our football team and he’ll join us tomorrow.”

No offense, but like 5 sources have reported it.

Thats funny because the registars office said he hadn't enrolled in any classes, besides he can enroll in several colleges until he attends class, besides, we'd rather have a HS recruit QB that can give us 4 yrs, and not a 2nd place QB that he was at ASU.:pop: Callahad theSlasher is going to get your program introuble before alls said and done. First time the Huskers lose a game he thinks they shouldn't have he'll do them like his Raider player and say they're the dumbest players in the world, or something else stupid like that, then you all will really love him/moron.
