for some reason, the winamp player skin i use now appears in front of any firefox window. it's annoying the **** out of me. wtf?

help?

Is your Winamp configured to "always on top"?

If you inadvertantly hit <cntrl A> it'll happen. You can go to the Options tab & find out.
