He's partially asian of which that Asian heritage is traced to Thailand; he's also partially black of which that heritage can be traced back to somewhere in Africa.

Glad I could clear that up. :D

Has anyone here ever had a hole-in-one?

According to Dave Chappelle, he was drafted by the Whites in the Race Draft.

He is not black. Not white. Not Thai. He is Tiger Woods a new breed. From a land I have never been, called birdie land. Things are easy there. Not like where I live, bogey land. On occasion I vacation to par land.

"Woods' mother, Kultida Woods, is originally from Thailand, and is of mixed Thai (50 percent), Chinese (25 percent), and Dutch (25 percent) ancestry.

This makes Woods himself one-quarter Chinese, one-quarter Thai, one-quarter black, one-eighth Native American, and one-eighth Dutch.[2]

He refers to his ethnic make-up as Cablinasian (a portmanteau of Caucasian, Black, American-Indian, and Asian), a term he made up himself."

eh, I think you can't really say that until his career is over. I think if he goes on to win 35 majors and 190 tournaments then you could make a case for greatest athlete of all time.

there's a fair amount of athleticism required to have a golf swing that good

not just anybody can do what he does.......i would say that makes him an athlete

Athletes play sports, golf is a game. Tiger couldn't carry the jockstrap of someone like Michael Jordan, Joe Washington, Jim Thorpe, or Derek Jeter.

would you call a place kicker an athlete?

would you call a baseball player who only DH's an athlete?

i would submit to you that Tiger Woods, with his frame and level of fitness, if properly trained in any sport - could likely be competitive

he chose to play golf (with a "little" help from his father)....

what is the definition of athlete?

I have heard this assumption made by many sports people, saying he could have been really good at whatever sport he chose. He just happened to go with Golf, and is re-writing the record books.

if you can drink beer while you do it then it is not a sport. It is also not a sport if it is always judged and/or you have no interaction with other 'teams'.
