2006-2007 TRAINING CAMP STARTS TODAY
OPEN TRYOUT TOMORROW EVENING
DATE: August 21, 2006
(NORMAN, OK) – Today marks the beginning of the 2006-2007 University of Oklahoma® Hockey club season as the Sooners open training camp this afternoon at Blazers Ice Centre, 8000 S. I-35, in Oklahoma City. Twenty-three returning OU Hockey players as well as nine incoming recruits are expected to report for today’s initial training camp session from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Tomorrow evening will be the OU Hockey club open tryout starting at 9:00 p.m. The OU Hockey tryout is open to any full-time undergraduate OU student. All tryout participants must provide their own properly fitting, safety approved ice hockey equipment. Helmets must be fitted with a full cage. The tryout application and other forms are available at www.icehockey.ou.edu and www.ouhockey.com.
The remainder of the 2006-2007 OU Hockey training camp is as follows:
Wednesday, August 23 - 4:30 – 6:00 PM
Thursday, August 24 - 7:30 – 9:00 PM
Saturday, August 26 - 6:00 – 7:30 PM
Monday, August 28 - 4:30 – 6:00 PM
Tuesday, August 29 - 9:00 – 10:30 PM
Wednesday, August 30 - 4:30 – 6:00 PM
The Sooners will open their 2006-2007 season on September 22nd and 23rd when they play host to the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Season tickets for the 2006-2007 OU Hockey season are on sale now to the general public. Season tickets are priced at $126.00 for 21 OU Hockey home games. All OU Hockey home games are played at Blazers Ice Centre. For more information regarding season tickets, please call 405-631-3307.
