Boise State's competition notwithstanding, they are up there with legitimate monsters in college football. Gotta give their consistency some props.

Incredible--the top 19 are a who's who of college football powerhouses (save for az st), but Boise sneaks in.

Boise is beastly, but a. they've only been D-1 for about 10-15 years, if that, and b. got lambasted by Georgia when they finally played someone highly ranked.

Just think where we'd have been if it weren't for that little slip in the 90's. That despicable era when we only went to 4 bowl games and only won two of those. Thank you Gibbssmellyblake.

Now keep in mind that this is winning percentage we're talking about. I hate to defend the pokes, but they play just a little bit tougher schedule than Nevada-Reno and North Tejass.

No program matches OU's accomplishments since the end of WWII.

Easily the most successful program in the last half of the 20th Century.

they get Z E R O cred........if you look in the college data warehouse site, the tulsa businessmen have permascorboard on them and they are like 1-5 against an indian high school (checola ?)that no longer exsists..........

didn't we tie colorado in '91 or '92 because of a missed field goal or something?

92 in Boulder.

Rasheed fumbled (again) and Mitch Berger toe-picked a 52 yarder (IIRC) as time ran out, 24-24.

We also tied Okie Lite in Stillwater that year and finished 5-4-2.

I think about half of them came in the Gibbsmellyblake era. Including two wonderful games against Nebraska that made us look like OSU.

One of my enduring memories of my freshman year was some Nebraska fans coming over to the student section and chanting "Five four and two, no bowl for you!"

I honestly couldn't even get mad.

Your so right the Modern Era of FB is considered WWII to present, and is the bases most use to determine the best programs. Therefore you all know where that puts OU. # 1. Many Natl Pubs and articles will also state the obvious, no program has been more successful since WWII the modern era of FB than OU. BOOMER SOONER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Boise St ahead of Texass.LMAO!

Just a footnote ,guess who is number 1 scoring team( total points ) NCAA history?OU with 28,756 points. This is in 1,099 games in which we have a 754-292-53 record.we are 6th in winning%(.710) and eigth in wins.We have given up a total of 13,399 points for an average aggerate score of 26.2-12.2 per game..We have played 66 fewer games than the #2 scoring team,Michigan(28,602 points).

Sounds like the Sooners need to start claiming some more championships... get on the Bama-Michigan-SC-A&M trend. I think 29 sounds like a good number to claim, with 12 coming in the 50's alone.

If one of you stats guys can do it, calculate the numbers back to and including 1950 - 2005. OU may end up No.1. 1950 - 1955 were some of Bud's best years. The streak of 47 was included in some of those years as was the streak of what 28?
