While my wife and I were on vacation in California yesterday we got a call early in the morning to let us know our two year old golden retriever passed away. She apparently had a condition call DIC which has to do with blood thinning and coagulating at the same time I dont really understand it. Just two days ago when we left she was perfectly fine, and now she is gone.

I am young and been married three years, we bought this dog together to start our family as we have no kids. I was shocked and cant put into words the incredible grief and loss I feel.

I have lost relatives, friends, even my father when i was very very young in my life, but nothing has hit quite like this. I think that I lost someone who totally depended on me hurts the most.

So heres a prayer that Reagan is in a land full of bones to eat, streams to romp in, and squirrels to chase. You will forever be in my heart.

My sympathies to you and your wife on your loss, as I know if something
happened to our cocker Barry, it would be devastating to my wife and I...
The little bastards are way too easy to become attached to...

Good luck...

Condolences... Dogs are a part of the family, too. I know I would be crushed if I lost my cat. :(

You know I almost said how dare you disgrace my dog thread with a cat refrence but I thought it would be in poor taste as I am in morning and all.

Would it help if I said my cat plays fetch?

Are you thinking of getting another pet sometime soon? Or are you going to take a break?

I feel sympathy for you, young friend. We had a Golden Retriever (Maggie) who lived to be 13, and it hurt us when she died. We then switched to a Pug (Abby), who made it 11 years, and now we're on our second Pug (Bella), who's a little over 1 year.

Wait just a little while, then pick out another special friend.

You felt worse when your dog died then when your dad passed?

That must be one hell of a dog.

Sad to learn it. The fact that the dog was so young can't make it any easier.
