No, not ScottD, I did.
Looks like my time in the construction business is short. I will be working in the oil & gas industry. I'm not sure when I start. They will call me this week or next and let me know. As soon as they get the results from my background and drug tests back it will be official. I not only had to pee in a cup but I also had to do a breathalyzer and they took hair from my armpit for more drug screening.
OUDoc, in the future could you leave me out when you are wishing syphilis on them. TIA
Why the armpit? Or is that the only hair on your body?

I not only had to pee in a cup but I also had to do a breathalyzer and they took hair from my armpit for more drug screening while I wore a pretty Sunday dress. Also, I was required to sit on his lap like Santa Claus, and prance around like a pretty pony in my underwear

The underarm thing did make me scratch my head as I'm not sure if my underarm hair is longer than the hair on my head.

isn't it because if you took anything it'll stay in the hair follicles/sweat glands of the armpit longer, or you'll likely sweat out anything incriminating there?

wouldn't nose hairs tell if someone's had something in their nose? same goes for ear hair and putting your finger in there all the time.

the longer the hair, the longer the history of drug use that can be determined
if he's got short hair, the most natural place to look next is the underarm......its alot more comfortable asking that then having him strip to have his pubes pulled and plucked

I went in interviewing for a mud motor sales position and walked out with an MWD job. I was confused and excited and confused when I left. The HR lady said that I was the first MWD person that had worn a suit and tie to the interview.
The sales interview was headed south as this guy wanted someone with O&G experience. I said, 'Hey, howabout I work as an MWD for a year or two and then get into sales'. He said, 'Great idea, let's go talk to Larry'.
The lady that I had interviewed with earlier in the week said that both of the guys that I talked told her that she could have me in a year.

Sooner 68 is also a MWD. An MWD is a downhole tool that sends impulses back to the surface through the mud. I will take the data and make a log for the directional driller so he knows the angle of his bit and what type of formation he's drilling through, I think. I will be a MWD Specialist I.
I'm not exactly sure what I will be doing, to be honest. I did get some fluid on my underroos when he told me what I'll make.

Congrats 1TC! I worked in the exploration/seismic instrument development out of the Amoco research center in Tulsa for a while in the early eighties and worked out west in the field for about a year and 1/2. Working 2-3 weeks straight without a day off wasn't fun for the crews I oversaw but at times it was some pretty interesting work, particularly in Oregon, Utah, Nevada and Wyoming and I was married at the time and the wife was living out in the field with me. The daily perdiem afforded some really nice apartments/condos and stuff. So she stayed home and watched the kid while living in a condo in Park City Ut. or Florence Oregon or Reno while I worked my A** off. Those were the days......:)
I did get some fluid on my underroos when he told me what I'll make.

yeah but this one's salary is 28k. There are per diems and day pay and truck allowance and trailer pay and instrument pay and other things. The more you work, the more you make.
I did the gazintas in my head and came up with eleventy brazillion dollars.
I'm assuming that the overall pay is related to the fact that living on the rig in a 5th wheel isn't very appealing to people with families. I think SB68 said that his longest was 63 days straight and my buddy that got me hooked up with this said he was out for 161 days straight once. 12 hours on, 12 hours off until that well is completed.

Actually, I have 26 more days for my one year anniversary. I started working on Sep. 11.
This will be the second longest tenure I've had since I left college. It's actually the only job I've had since I graduated from OU.
