I say Charles Thompson. At least Bomar wasn't plastered on the cover of Sports Illustrated in handcuffs and an orange jumpsuit.

There's no such thing as a stupid question.

The thought process that went into forming said question on the other hand...

Hmmm... Charles Thompson wearing an OSU aggy uniform, getting into Eddie Sutton's personal limo (think about that one) on the cover of Sports Illustrated... Rhett trying to fill his pockets early into his FB career...

It is called Embezzlement by an Employee. Either he asked for the money, in which case he is a principal, or he merely accepted it in which case McC is a principal and he is an accessory. IMHO

If you could put all college football and basketball players on lie detector. Close to 100% have had taken at least a hundred bucks from a booster. If they were any good at all. 4 People in my family have had opportunity all took. Simple handshake hundred bucks in palm. Everyone on team talked about it, all took it. Rhett just got careless.

If this true, all parties involved should be prosecuted. Maybe nothing would become of it but at least the players and local businesses would know this **** is bull****.

What made the whole Charles Thompson deal bad, IMO, is earlier in that day he was arrested, he had gone to an elementary school and talked to a bunch of kids in an assembly saying something to the fact that he wouldn't be who he was as a successful college athelete if he had been involved in drugs.

it is however extremely possible for a thread to be stupid.

What Rhett did falls more into the category of Marcus Dupree material. Someone who had a lot of talent on the field but couldn't get themselves in the right frame of mind to become the stuff of legend. No, Marcus did not do anything illegal...he was just lazy and unmotivated.

You should have to have a few hundred posts before you're allowed to start a thread.

First of all, it is only embezzlement if the employer doesn't know about it...I have a feeling the employer knew about it.

is there anyway we can fark Rhett into an orange jumpsuit? that would be worth laughing at once.

rhett didnt do anything criminal.

Good point.

Rhett Bomar did a stupid thing that brought more shame to him than to OU. It did sent the football program scrambling to re-group on the verge of a new season.

Charles Thompson did something criminal that embarrassed the entire University and nearly brought the death penalty to the football program.

There really is no comparison - stupidity versus felony . . . . .

I think Rhett Bomar got caught up in being Rhett Bomar. Any time you start doing that life has a way of smacking you down a peg or two.

If you've read CT's book you'd realize the CT was not a good person. I think he's changed but as a young man he was a thug.
