Think he'll make their roster? He scored a touchdown tonight in a Pre-Season game vs. the Houston Texans.

i don't think it will be easy for any coach to tell q to pack his bags. he brings too much as a 3rd down guy. i think he is a good fit at kc and although he has to sit behind johnson, with priest holmes out he'll stick around.

He would have stuck around in Denver if he hadn't made a few costly fumbles. I predict he will stick around, he has a great work ethic and a good attitude.

I hope he does well. But he's got an uphill battle being buried on the depth chart.

Didn't KC try to sign him after Denver cut him last year?

Yep, they gave him a quick look but had to take pass because of cap numbers, etc. Peterson liked what he saw though, and called him back this season.

By my count he had 8 touches last night and looked pretty good. It looks like he is fighting for the number three spot with two other guys.

Q just needs another chance, and some stick-um; i think he has a lot to offer a team, but it needs to be the right situation, and not a team with a ton of backs.

That is great to hear... Q is definitely one of my favorite Sooners and had an extremly underrated career at OU. Hook em

I don't understanding his fumbling problem at Denver. He was one of the most reliable running backs I've ever seen in college in terms of ball security.

I was sitting at the game last night and I was kind of checking out the Cheerleaders when I heard the PA guy say that Quentin Griffin was back to receive the punt. I thought I had heard something by mistake so I grabbed the roster sheet they give you in the suites and sure enough it was Q.

He had a real good run where he busted off the right side and was bottled up but then bounced it out for a bout 9-10 yards. I wish the Texans had grabbed him up. He would fit perfectly under Kubs new system.

I do hope he catches on somewhere though.

Heard from a friend that watched the game...apparently, in typical Q fashion, at one point he had a decent run going and a linebacker laid a pretty massive hit right into Q's chest. Q bounced about 5 yards laterally, dug his feet in, and took off for another 10 yards or so.

Just hearing about it brought back memories :D.

its the same problem that tiki barber had early in his career. the shape of the pro football forces you to keep the ball high on your shoulder pads.

when you carry it like this...

its pretty easy to poke out, both from the front and the back. so you are taught to carry it like this...

my son has been at ou's football camp for three years now and that (qs pic)is DEFINATELY not how they are taught to carrry the ball.

KC has Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson as thier 1a and 1b backs. Who else is in the mix for them this year?

Potential problem is that Herman Edwards is now the head coach at KC. Not sure if old Herm is big on OU players. This is the same coach who wouldn't give Derrick Strait a chance in NY to compete for a starting job - may depend on who the offensive coordinator is.

Remember that Edwards and Terry Bradway were the brilliant duo that let Lamont Jordan go to Oakland leaving the Jets in the lurch they were in until today with thier running backs.

Good luck to Q -he is an underrated back who has good third down potential in the NFL.

Priest Holmes will probably never play again. Larry Brown is the starter and his back up is Dee Brown who is pretty damn good. If Q doesn't make it with the Chiefs, it won't be because of Herm Edwards. There is just a lot of talent on the roster in that position.

I know Larry Brown is looking for a job, but I think you meant Larry Johnson:D

The Chiefs traded for Micheal Bennett but he has a sore hammy and did not play Saturday. He is projected as the number 2. Dee Brown played a lot Saturday and looked good.

So has Dee Brown become on par with Roy Williams as "most ubiquitous sports names?"
