Not bad. $25k car, 60mph, 200-mile range, and costs $2 to refill the batteries. Too bad it looks like a nerd-car:

Why bs??? If you're looking for a car to just get around the city, that thing would be awesome. Trips, not so much.

i didn't say POS...

i'm doubting the accuracy on this one, it's not like it's from the AP or something

Rusher already provided a link to this company. They have their own website so mabye it will carry some more weight. It is a different car and manufacturer but it is the same concept. This one looks a lot better to me.

I am not advocating this by any means. I know very little on the subject so keep that in mind.

However, the link I provided has a car that will outrun most production cars today. The cost is pretty high but it is not a production vehicle but rather a prototype. If that car were produced on a large scale the costs would be reduced dramatically.

I also believe that if a car like that were produced on a commercial scale, the major manufacturers would be forced to produce the same. All this concept needs is some funding and some support.

Those that have mocked these cars are an interesting group given the subject matter.

For the record, I like it. Squeezing my 6'6" 240# self into that thing every morning would be a real joy.

Also, I have committed to riding my bike to work every morning the temp is below 80° and the relative humidity is below 85% at 7:30 a.m. Hasn't happened yet this summer, but I DO check.

The great thing about all these electric vehicles is the possibility of adding solar panel for recharging option. You can park this baby up outside while you're working in cubical box all day, and by the time you get back to your car, it's already fully charged. Think of it this way: you may not have to spend anything to charge up your car, ESPECIALLY during summer.

Talk about saving $$$$$ in long run.

Do the cells have "re-charch memory" like my cell phone battery? If so, that wouldn't last more than a couple of months.
