From a British newspaper quoting one of the terror suspect's neighbors:

Neighbors identified another suspect as Don Stewart-Whyte, 21, from High Wycombe, a convert who changed his name to Abdul Waheed.

"He converted to Islam about six months ago and grew a full beard," said a neighbor, who refused to be identified. "He used to smoke weed and drink a lot, but he is completely different now."

Uh, huh...completely different to say the least. He's cast aside partying and graduated on to global terrorism in the name of his new faith. What a heart-warming story. :rolleyes:

It is a captivating tale of conversion. Over here, you hear about people finding the Lord and giving up vices and such. In this case, upon conversion, the guy decided to blow hisself up.

I would think that would make the evangelists job a bit tougher if he had to convince folks in addition to giving up partying all night and howling at the moon, they might also be expected to blow themselves to smithereens.:eek:

I think it's funny that the former weed smoker takes on the name Waheed in his conversion. Just move a couple of letter and Waheed becomes "Ah, weed!" :D

On a similar vein, I have a black friend from North Alabama who now lives in Montgomery AL who ascribed much of the plight of the black community in lower Alabama to overconsumption of chicken. With tongue firmly in cheek, he opined that there had to be some kind of drug in the coatings used at Church's to explain the antics and tomfoolery perpetrated by Church's fried chicken consumers.

If there are indeed "Christian" denominations who forbid bacon, they need to read on past the book of John on into Acts and Paul's letters for clarification. The whole food vision thing. Yeah.

Also, I am virulently anti-drug legalization. However, if smoking pot can be proven to prevent regular people from turning to radical islam, I'll have to rethink my position. I mean, seriously. I mean if bacon and dope can bring world peace, let's have at it.
