Not one right guess yet.

Sooner24
8/10/2006, 10:29 PM

MiccoMacey
8/10/2006, 10:31 PM

Sooner24

I just looked it up, and I doubt anybody will guess it. I never would have at least.

HarrisTubbsFan
8/10/2006, 10:44 PM
Washington didn't average over 7 yards. Maybe 6 yards a carry.

Pruitt is one. I think the other is Clendon Thomas or Billy Vessels. I'll say Vessels.

pb4ou
8/10/2006, 10:46 PM
Patrick Collins?

MiccoMacey
8/10/2006, 10:46 PM
Well, he's saying Sooner, and not specifically RB.

Could be a lineman who ran the fumlberooski, or a TE on a reverse, or some such.

Sooner24
8/10/2006, 10:47 PM
Okay Pruitts one now who's the other?

MiccoMacey
8/10/2006, 10:47 PM

pb4ou
8/10/2006, 10:48 PM

Sooner24
8/10/2006, 10:48 PM
This player was a running back.

Sooner24
8/10/2006, 10:49 PM

HarrisTubbsFan
8/10/2006, 10:56 PM
It's Pruitt and Heath.

Heath averaged 7.03 a carry Pruitt averaged almost 7.4

MiccoMacey
8/10/2006, 10:57 PM
Heath Ledger played for OU? When??

Well I'm sure Keith Jackson was one of them. Is Pruitt the other?

HarrisTubbsFan
8/10/2006, 11:11 PM
I've gotta turn in. So I may just give the answer away. This guy ran for the record in 1983 against Colorado.

MiccoMacey
8/10/2006, 11:12 PM
80 yard TD...bobbled the ball and picked it up on one bouce...kept on running to paydirt.

SOONER44EVER
8/10/2006, 11:18 PM
I guess I should have read the other posts first. Surely Keith Jackson averaged more than that. He had 3 carries for 136 yards against Nebraska in 1985. Thats 45.3 ypc!

This one probably doesn't last long. Who has the freshman record for rushing yards in a game.

Guess it'll last till tomorrow morning or tomorrow night. Good night all.

Frozen Sooner

The answer is Gregg Pruitt, but that's not the answer you're looking for apparently as Pruitt set the record against Kansas State in '71.

Earl Johnson had a monster game against CU in 1983, but it's not in the top 10 total rushing yards games by Sooners.

Edit: Oh, crap, sorry. Reread the question. The answer is Earl Johnson after all. Sorry-thought you were asking for the all time best rushing game by a Sooner, not by a freshman.

Wasn't Pruitt a soph. when he ran for 294?
Oops, I just reread your post. I think I had too many brewskis today.

How many ypc did Keith Jackson avg? I've been looking but can only find receiving yards.

Man, I have NO idea. A lot? I guess you could go to Soonerstats and look up every game he played in-I think they have box scores...

Adrian Peterson. He just moves so fast that the spectrum shift makes him look very dark.

Earl Johnson is the correct answer. Greg Pruitt was a Jr when he set the all time record. Pruitt only had about 300 yards as a Sophomore. He started that year at wide out.

Either Grant Burget or Jay McKim.

HarrisTubbsFan
8/11/2006, 06:19 AM
Here's a footnote on my trivia question only 4 sophomores have ever gotten over 200 yards in OU history. 2 did it twice(De'Mond Parker, and some guy that wears 28), Gaddis did it in 89. And the other one was Billy Vessels in 1950. He is the only newcomer that was a sophomore that has gotten over 200 yards.

on ncaa 07 the 2000 sooners have littrell listed as the starting hb

Jay McKim.

yes.

he was also a rhodes scholar if i remember correctly.

BigUgly
8/11/2006, 10:55 AM
I'm pretty sure Mark Hutson carried the ball only once and it was for about 18 yards. Granted, it probably took him 5 seconds to get there - but he got there.

Who was the last white halfback to start a game for OU?
Jim Grisham. Even though Wylie was after him.

stoopified
8/12/2006, 10:53 AM
I don't recall McKim ever starting a game.If he did it was a one-time thing as he was reserve hb throughout his career. The way I took the question was who was the last white starter at hb,meaning full-time.Full-time would be Wylie(1971).Burget had a couple of starts I think Burget had a couple of starts as did Welch. We have white starting fbs such as the Littrellls(Jim and Seth),Mike Mckinley alternated with Rasheed under Gibbs. But the last REGULAR white starting hb was Wylie.

critical_phil
8/12/2006, 11:08 AM
it was a one time thing. i don't remember the exact game he started, but i'm thinking it was against CU.
