Is anyone else slightly bothered that the CIA is showing "Now Hiring" comericals during Mythbusters?

OK, what was the one in the bucket that they set on fire? I was sort of watching the show but mainly playing NintendoDS. I look up and this foam is coming out of this bucket maybe 15 feet high. It looked fairly stable. Then they lit it and it made a flame to the ceiling.

soap and water, hose from a methane tank. add fire = FWOOM!

8/9/2006, 10:55 PM
Wait - I dont' understand. How were the bubbles so stiff? I could never make bubbles that tall.

Norm In Norman
8/9/2006, 10:55 PM
Or they used the methane to make the bubbles?

proud gonzo
8/9/2006, 10:57 PM
yep--they used the methane to make the bubbles and supposedly since it's lighter than air it holds the bubbles up better....i think

Not near as much as by the "El Wal-Centro comercial está ofreciendo a paquetes de la mitad-apagado de los pañales del tema de los coches esta semana" greeting I had this evening.

Press 2 or something, geeze.

Sincerely,

Throughout the entire episode, I could not get that question off my mind. Granted, I would be blown away if it would kill you, but if you just chugged some diet pop and ate a mentos or 2 right afterwards, it would definatly be extremely uncomfortable. I bet it would just make you puke. Nonetheless, Im pretty surprised they didn't even bring that up.

I love that show, mostly because it's something I can watch with 9 year old daughter that isn't animated or I WAS LIKE 'DUH' DUDE.

I think it has ignited a new interest in science for the kids and parents, which is simply GENIUS programming.

I love Mythbusters.

I'm looking forward to this episode.

Jamie and Adam have been known to shoot wind before but in Straw Through Palm they do it with more devastating speed and accuracy than in Mythbusters history. The theory is that in a tropical hurricane the wind can get so strong it can blow a piece of straw through a palm tree trunk. Finally in a ****-a-doodle-doo of a Mythbuster's moment they answer the burning barnyard myth — can a hurricane blow the feathers off a chicken? Meanwhile, Grant, Tory and Kari embrace their sadistic sides and turn the workshop into a horticultural house of horrors.
Premiere: Sept. 4, 2006
