There is also a possibility it has spread to his brain. We will know that tomorrow.

Today must be a bad news day. A good friend and coworker found out this afternoon he has cancer (throat?), and that it has likely spread to other parts of his body.

gosh...really sorry to hear that.

I recently lost a very close member of my family...but she isn't gone.

Hopefully it turns out for the best but if it doesn't...just remember, your dad will always be with you.

Very sad situation. Check out the book, "Miracles" by Pat Robertson. (Save the nutjob jokes). Many stories of the healing of families in your situation.

What a bastard.Well, they only do the scans periodically. His form of cancer is small cell which is also referred to as a "spitting" cancer. So basically the little bastards procreate all over the place very quickly. The scans of his lungs and throat showed no change from the last time they did them but they did show activity in his liver. Because he had started to complain about a constant headache, they did the MRI and that's when they found the little bastards all over the place in his brain.

and no doubt, CT-Scans are quite costly, that's why you don't get one on a normal doctors checkup.
