Cunningham's name is familiar.

Cunningham is a professional and Gold has made a few final tables in the last couple of years. Everyone else on that list is pretty much an amateur.

Further proof that No Limit Texas Hold 'Em doesn't involve much skill.

not in a field of 8000 or so... most of which are amateurs

If these "pros" were so good, why didn't they advance through the amateurs like you through a box of ding dongs? <awaits negging>:O

it's all about getting reads on how someone plays. the problem there is that out of a field of 8k maybe about 200 or so are professionals. I really think that we're going to see fewer pros enter the main event unless they are being subsidized by whichever poker site they've affiliated themselves with. I know more than a few are just playing limit, pot limit, stud, and hi/lo events primarily now at the WSOP just because the amateur factor is a lot lower.

oh and don't forget this quote

If it wasn't for luck, I'd win every game.

Yeah, but Hellmuth is a egotistical *********. He wishes he was half as good as he thinks he is.
