Keith Clark is qualified as of today to play for the University of Oklahoma this year.

Yay!

YES! Any bigmen will help.

Frozen Sooner

Well, Keith is more than just "any" big man, though he doesn't really have a big man game. He's much more of a face-the-basket kind of guy with a long body. Think KG (though obviously not as good.)

big ups to Keith for buckling down and getting it done.

I TOLD YOU GUYS.

Why doesn't anyone ever listen to me?

Frozen Sooner

I always listen to short women who date big bald guys.

Keeps the wear and tear on the phiz to a minimum.

Is this one of the 3 highly touted guys we were recruiting?

Frozen Sooner
8/8/2006, 07:29 PM
He's one of the five and one of the two who stuck with us. Of the five, Moose was considered either the second best (behind James) or third (behind James and Reynolds.)

Everyone is seriously underrating Tony Crocker right now. If you haven't seen him play you're in for a treat, that kid can play.

Frozen Sooner

I'm not saying I'm the one who considered him second or third. I'm just giving the consensus opinion there.

Crocker IS a very good player, and I'm looking forward to seeing him play. The people who didn't have Scottie Reynolds as the second-best player in our departed class generally had Crocker ahead of him. There was a lot of division about how good Reynolds really was.

Any insight on his defensive game? Can he defend in the post and rebound?

Moose can rebound, but he needs to improve his footwork on the defensive side of the ball.

Thanks, sounds like you've seen the kid play.

Capel has said he wants to be aggressive on defense (I'm assuming overplay like Duke) and run more on offense. How's Moose at runnin' the floor?

Frozen Sooner

Heh. Yeah, Rhino and Lil have seen him play a couple of times....

Awesome.

Just trying to get insight from people who have actually seen the guy in action - you can read stats and reports but they don't always tell the whole story.

Thanks!:O

Rhino and Lil have been dating for a few years (did you ever pop the question?)

I can't remember which one, but Moose is a cousin of one of them.

Running the floor is one of his strengths. He's a great ball handler for a big man.

They ran him at point when they played Edmond North (I dunno about other games) and he not only can run, but he can distribute, drive, and bust the 3. One thing that holds him back is that he is kind of a whiner, but hopefully that can be fixed.

I can't remember which one, but Moose is a cousin of one of them. He's Lil's "cuzzzzz", not cousin.

Frozen Sooner

I wondered about that.

Yeah Moose isn't blood related, but we've been around each other since he was in diapers.

I did beat him in a game of water basketball once.

but then again he was going into the 4th grade and I was a senior and he was 2 inches taller than me.

I thought I read it's still not officially done yet?

Nothing to worry about. Mostly formalities.

Clark still awaiting eligibility clearance (http://www.newsok.com/article/2830770/)
OU recruit Keith Clark cleared a major hurdle in gaining academic eligibility last week, but the Putnam City product has not yet been cleared.

Clark passed a pair of summer school classes, which in all likelihood will qualify the 6-foot-8 power forward. However, Internet and published reports that Clark is officially cleared are erroneous. Two steps in the process of gaining eligibility remain -- being cleared and admitted by OU, then being cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse.

There's a good chance those steps will merely be formalities, but nothing is official until the clearinghouse grants or denies eligibility. In some cases, that process can take up to six weeks, but OU could know within a week to a week and a half in regards to Clark. And, in regards to what the dork board is reporting, he hasn't been red-flagged again.

LilSooner

I can't read that board I would go ape **** on the jackholes.

At this point all I want him to do is keep studying and represent the Sooner Nation well. Good job, Moose!

Moose has received his clearance from the NCAA clearinghouse. All good to go.
